Forum URL: (private) A member of my forum brought this glitch to my attention. Whenever he used the words 'data breach' in Search he got the odd results seen below. I then tried it for myself & got the same result: 3 pages with no content made by Guests. I then tried other, different words & got legit results & at other times got no results found when the content is on the board. Most notably with the words 'How To' & there are numerous threads that begin with those words. Would appreciate a look be taken at my forum to see what's causing that.

Scott, well, the odd results for the 'data breach' search are no longer there. But getting search results for known content varies: one search will show results & another, different one won't. When you're in my forum try searching for 'How To'. I get no results for that, neither as Posts or Threads.

Apologies, I meant to mention in my other post that "how" and "to" are what we call stop words. Meaning theses words are not indexed, and doing a search for those words would not produce any results. Stop words are common words, or words that occur so frequently that the search results would be skewed and taint the results with an inordinate amount of returns in the results. |

Scott, great idea there with 'stop words'. As you've alluded to, without those Search results would become a very long list of irrelevant results one would have to wade through. And now if any member experiences no results I can inform them as to why that happened.
Anyway, the Search function in my forum is now working as it should, minus those phantom Guest results, displaying the correct results for words plugged-into it.
Thank you very much for your prompt response to my post & for fixing the glitch. I do appreciate your efforts.
