Sorry if this wasn’t clear before, but the Simple Image Upload plugin is not endorsed by ProBoards, and we have no affiliation with the hosting service. Imgbb operates independently from us. If you encounter any issues with the Imgbb image hosting service, you will need to contact them directly, as we cannot assist with matters related to Imgbb

Although I didn't report our forum was having the same problem. Thankfully we are seeing images returning. Wondering if paulb and sgtlazarus are seeing the same?

I've seen this happen before. It comes and goes.

As I said previously, I've been using imgbb for some years to directly host my pics and for about the past two years I've seen the service get progressively worse. (I've never used that plugin, as I've only been on ProBoards for a few months.)

I've only got 20 unimportant pics left on imgbb right now, and today they're all displaying, but the other day when I made my previous post uptopic, only four or five displayed, no matter what I did.

I would not rely on imgbb to host images any more.

Bob .....in our case our forum is 8 years old and we have thousands of pictures. Beginning again is not an option....although using other methods to add images can be recommended. Unfortunately many people will tend to use what they are used to....and the imgbb plug-in is very convenient. Would still be interested to know if otoohers have seen a return of their images.

Yesterday the pictures were returning, no where near all of them, but they were coming back. My forum is also 7 years old, so if or better said, when IMGBB dies, then we are going to loose 90% of all pictures. This coming weekend I shall inform my players to start using postimg.cc/files . After that, I shall turn the IMGBB plugin off.

I'm just reminding you guys that if you aren't uploading forum images to your theme, you risk losing everything. Relying on a third party is never a safe idea.

The only "Theme" I know about are the color setups for my forum.

This. Forum images should be uploaded to your theme and not a 3rd party. Good advice for everyone in this thread. Third parties usually can't be used as a cdn and these members risk losing everything.

Admin > Themes > Theme Manager

Click the images button next to your theme. Upload the logo, default avatar, icons, stars, emotes, and so forth there.



Admin > Members > Forum Avatars

Upload your own default avatars there. Members should use the ProBoards uploader when uploading an avatar, not hotlinking to a site that doesn't allow hotlinking.





Free sites offer no guarantees and can disappear overnight. I would only use them to share an occasional image in a thread. You generally can't use them for banners, signatures, avatars, emotes, stars, icons, or anything else that represents your forum.

Wait a second.
The images under discussion in this thread are images embedded in threads, not things like forum logos, avatars, icons, etc.

I'm getting the impression we are not talking about the same images.

The site in question is a model building site, where people display pictures of the models they are building, or have built. You know, airplane models, vehicles, tanks, etc. Plastic models, that you have to assemble. It's a hobby. Those are the pictures we're talking about, not forum icons, avatars and all that.
