What happens when a moderator is blocked by a member?

I am the Admin on a Proboards forum, and my one and only moderator has suspicions that she is blocked by a member. Some months ago, she attempted to control a situation within a thread, and the user affected had a light reaction. While it didn't create anything dramatic, she wonders if [they] blocked her, to prevent future moderation by her.

We are a close group, and I have had virtually no issues with anyone. But just because we're close, it makes outright asking the awkward question very hard.

So I have questions to see if this aligns with how it might be perceived on her end.

If she is blocked by this person:

1. Would the moderator still be able to see the individual's posts?
2. Would the moderator still see what they write in the Shoutbox/chat?
3. Would she still be able to contact them via PM?
4. If I send a PM to this person and add the moderator joined in the conversation, if she is blocked, would they be able to view each others' messages?
5. Can my moderator still moderate this user?

6. In worst case scenarios, can users block the Admins (meaning me)? If so, how would I be able to manage it if blocked?

1. Only if it’s quoted by others

2. Yes. Blocking in the shoutbox was once put forward as a feature request.

3. Yes. Pm communication isn’t a block option

4. Yes…for the above reason and also if they  already have PMs from the blocked moderator , they will be able to continue conversing with them  in those messages. To prevent this they  will have to click the “Leave Conversation” option. This can be found in any PM they may received from them, at the top right under “actions”.

5. This would very limited. I suspect this will Largely be dependent on what the mod can see in quoted posts.

6.Members can’t block admins and vice versa. *That’s with regards to messages

Conclusion:
As admin you may  need to act and mediate between the two parties and take whatever actions you deem necessary to resolve the problem.

Blocking a user does not prevent them from seeing your posts; it prevents you from seeing theirs. Members (including staff) cannot control other members' block lists. That said, the answer is yes to all but 6 and maybe 3 depending on whether or not the blocker checked the box that says "Do not let this member start new conversations with me," in which case the mod wouldn't be able to initiate new PM's with the member who blocked them but can still respond to PM's initiated by the member as well as any prior conversations they may have had.

As far as I know, only the forum creator (user#1) cannot be blocked. However, user#1 sometimes appoints an administrator, who is given a special tag and full authority over the forum. In addition, even with these privileges, the appointed administrator can still be blocked.

And this relates to members' posts. Given that most members are familiar with the blocking function, appointing moderators for a full-time moderating role seems pointless. The job ends when they're blocked, making it impossible to moderate posts that are hidden from view.

In this case, a member is blocking a moderator which means the mod's posts are hidden from the member, not the other way around. This applies to regular members as well because no member (not even the admin) can put anyone on another's block list. When you block someone, you are blocking that person's posts from your view; it has no bearing on whether or not that person can see your posts.
