Hi scot, is there anything in the plugins section that might be useful in a pinch for this problem? Regards February

February - unfortunately not. It's not a PB's RSS is not working for everyone issue. I tested multiple free online RSS readers and was able to receive the feed with no errors.

I agree, Scott, the RSS feed is functioning well. The concern lies in transmitting it to third-party app for uploading the feed to social media platforms like X, formerly known as Twitter. the theoverseer2117 can give you the details of that app. Regards February The Briar

February, your intended usage and the problem is well understood by all. But Scott has already mentioned what information he would need to potentially resolve this. You need to find out the IP addresses used by the third-party services to fetch the RSS feeds. Without this information Scott can't check to see if the services are being blocked by ProBoards, as it's all done via IP address. Some blocks are done intentionally by PB; other blocks are done automatically by the servers when they are rapidly inundated with requests from a single IP address or range. If you find out the IPs used Scott can check the block list and PB can review whether the block should still be in place. Beyond that there's nothing that can be done on PB's side of things since everyone agrees the RSS feed itself works.

Many thanks in advance, February Certainly. The errors with the middleman services (IFTTT, Zapier, etc.) suggest that these services are being blocked by ProBoards. You won't be able to submit your RSS feed to those sites unless that block is removed. If you contact the middlemen and ask what IP addresses they're using to read RSS feeds, you could bring those back here and Scott can check to see if they are definitely blocked. If they are, ProBoards can internally review the circumstances of the block and make a determination as to whether or not the block needs to remain in place. ProBoards may determine that the third-party services are too detrimental to ProBoards' operations to unblock. In this case, there would be nothing left to do to resolve this matter short of finding another middleman who isn't blocked yet. Or ProBoards may determine that the middlemen aren't currently a risk and will unblock them at least on a provisional basis. As to why these services are blocked in the first place, it's because they can send a lot of traffic to a website. Excess traffic can overwhelm the servers and cost ProBoards money, as bandwidth is a website's biggest expense. The traffic to your one forum might not be a big strain, but if every forum hosted by ProBoards did the same thing it could be a problem.

Thus the app absolutely has to connect to ProBoards in order to read it.

Hello Derekā½ and every1, It appears that it doesn't operate that way, in my opinion.

Hello Derekā½ and every1, It appears that it doesn't operate that way, in my opinion. That's how everything on the internet operates. There are absolutely no exceptions. An RSS feed is not like a radio/television broadcast that you can just catch with an antenna. You have to specifically request the resource from the provider. The provider can say no. The third-party services have to make a connection and request the feed, but ProBoards (or any site) can always say no.

There's just too much technical talk for me to follow. Regards February
