I'm pretty sure that not long ago that I saw a method posted on how to do that where as Admin I can go into forum settings and change the number for that. I believe the current text character limit is 60 but that can be changed.
Being that it was recent topic I first searched this forum, using several different wordings, so as not to repeat the topic but had no luck. So, if the method for changing that number could be stated once again I'd appreciate it.

Hi. It is not possible to increase that over what is posted in the topic sossity linked to. Should you want more, there is a plugin in the plugin library you could use to add a secondary title/description. www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/8

Sossity, that's the thread I'd seen before. Thanks. Apparently you're more skilled at finding threads than I. Craig, is the comment posted by Bigballofyarn in that thread what you mean? Stating, "You can play around with the 59 without causing harm to your forum, but because you asked, I checked for you. I set it to 99 rather than 59. 99 characters also worked. I am not using a plugin. There might be an upper limit though." If so, 99 characters would be way more than I'd want to use. An extra 10 or 15 characters would work for me. Thank you both for your prompt replies. I appreciate that.

Bigballofyarn, Grabbed your posted tags, below, & pasted those into the Global Header & Footer. Then I tested various lengths of text in the Subject line. Settled on 85. Thanks for your help.
