When making a new theme how do you fix the Edit so it won't show up on post thank you

lisaann - I assume you mean remove the Edit button from posts? Did you want this to include you as well, or just not be there for members?

Hello i don't want the Edit button to be removed i just want to know how when it shows up in a post i don't want it to show up in a post hope this helps

When you make a new theme and when someone post and then have to Edited it will show up at the bottom of the right hand side at the bottom of the page how can you fix it so it won't show up thanks

Go to Admin > Structure > Layout Templates > Thread, Post List tab.

On a new theme on lines 34-36 you will see this:

{if $[post.edited]}
   <div class="edited_by"><span class="italic">Last Edit:</span> $[post.edited.date] by $[post.edited.by_user]{if $[post.edited.reason]}: $[post.edited.reason]{/if}</div>
{/if}


You have 2 options:

1) you can remove that section of code

or

2) you can comment it out. This disables the code but leaves it in place in case you want to use it in the future. To comment it out you add <!-- before the start and --> at the end so it looks like this:
<!--  {if $[post.edited]}
   <div class="edited_by"><span class="italic">Last Edit:</span> $[post.edited.date] by $[post.edited.by_user]{if $[post.edited.reason]}: $[post.edited.reason]{/if}</div>
{/if}  -->

no my friend had already put it in that one for me sorry about that i'm gonna be making a new theme for Thanksgiving theme when i make it tomorrow but thank you so much for your help
