I just updated my version of Chrome (Android) and it's happening to me, too.
I've only tried it here on Support and it only occurs on mobile view and even then it's only affecting the link at the top of the thread that leads back to the board, but it does bring up the post selection menu.
If I had to guess, I'd say it might be due to the way JavaScript is being used to target links on the page. Maybe. Not sure why Chrome has to be so... Chrome all the time.
Chrome 131.0.6778.39

OK, on page two of this thread it's affecting every link on the page. I can't even edit or reply, had to go back to the first page just tap the link to post this.

Chrome 131.0.6778.39 Interesting. I updated two days ago. I'm on 130.0.6723.102 on Android. If there's a 131 that was released since then, it sounds like I'm on one lower version and won't be upgrading. I'm one of those people who manually updates maybe once every few months though. Maybe I'll test on an old phone and see what happens. Edit: The old phone only has Android 8.1. I updated it through the app store, but version 130.0.6723.102 is still the highest version available to me, and I have no issues on that phone either.

I've just used the "Report Post" option on both the "Home" and "Profile" links on the first page of this thread. Apologies for the false report, but hopefully that sheds a small bit of light on which posts are being assigned to which links on the page.
It looks like it's probably assigning based on tabIndex, but that's unconfirmed.
Edit: Tried it on my own test forum. Along with Scott's confirmation as to what was reported here, I can say it's always targeting the last post on the page.

Also having mobile issues with an android: something is off with the post settings button (cog icon). The selection wrapper dimensions seem to be off or something? for example, if i click ANYWHERE on the first post of a page, the post settings window pops up (Select Post, Deselect Post, Report Post, Delete Post, Back to Top). and then on subsequent posts below that, the cog icon is not clickable at all.
interesting to hear people say its affecting LAST posts on a page, because on our board its affecting FIRST post on a page

bigballofyarn - Software for Android is tricky the way releases are staggered. Chrome 131 might not be released for your specific device family yet. It should be available within the next few days but yeah, definitely no rush. interesting to hear people say its affecting LAST posts on a page, because on our board its affecting FIRST post on a page To clarify, the menu that pops up is targeting the last post on the page. That is, if you actually choose to select or report the page, it will select/report the last post. The issue isn't only affecting the first post. It affects everything that's within the viewport when the page first loads. It could be one post, it could be more. Whatever you can see when the page loads before scrolling will be affected. There isn't anything to be done about it until Google pushes out an update. The changelog for the newest version of Chrome doesn't include any entries that I would expect to have intentionally altered any functional behaviors used by ProBoards. It's likely a bona-fide bug in Chrome. Knowing Google, Chrome will likely be updated within a week or two. Whether that fixes the issue or not, I don't know. In the meantime, stick to desktop mode and everything will work fine. If a long-term solution is needed, responsive CSS exists and it's probably best that forum operators start using it in their themes anyway.

Derek‽, Knowing what I know about the update, I'll definitely maintain my method of only updating sporadically. However, I might check with the old phone so that I can replicate the issue. Hopefully, it'll be resolved for everyone before that though.

I'm in the group who is experiencing this major malfunction on android/chrome.
The only way I can function currently is to switch to Desktop view.

Unfortunately until this issue is sorted, users may wish to use a different mobile browser for the forums.

Browsers and operating systems must make programming hell. I literally have 9 browsers installed on my computer so that when someone tells me they have a forum problem, I open whatever browser they are using to try to troubleshoot. Hopefully, the next update will resolve whatever Google broke. I've made a note not to upgrade though until you guys say so.
