In the case of the anime threads. They were posted for those who LIKE anime, not for someone to bash or claim to hate anime. Or at least thats why I asked people to hold their evil hate to themselves in threads I started. What? No you wasn't the OP and the question was "Do you like anime?". not all anime threads were "do you like anime" and yet all of them had people going in a saying "I hate it" My post was talking about anime threads all together. (if I'm not making sense its from a heavy lack of sleep, and I'm sorry)

Dota, I agree sometimes. It is the same as when someone asks for help. People respond and the OP says Thanks. Up pops an individual to make sure he/she get a personal thanks. Or someone responds and knows nothing credible as a response to the question.
These are time when people who do not know, should not offer an answer.
I do think it is funny when someone comes up behind a poster and restates another posters words, instead of making their own.
How does one have dialogue if everyone must agree?

Why should some one or some people be allowed to derail or hijack the intent of a thread or the intent of the original poster? Start a new thread then.
I can understand voicing an opposing view in a thread that is asking for all opinions, but if the OP is only asking for something very specific ...then yes I think opposing opinions should be kept to at the very least a bare minimum.

I hate ANY threads that have "Qualifying" statements like: If you do not like it, do not post. Do not post telling me to use Google. (When most of the time copy & pasting the subject into Google and hitting the "I'm feeling lucky" button answers their question) Only girls/guys post. -------- Now if I do not agree with a thread, and they put a "Do not like it do not post" rule in it.... And I post a decent explanation of how I do not agree, I should NOT be harassed for having my opinion. However if someone just posts "I hate it" and leaves it at that. They deserve to be bothered for not giving an explanation.

The only reason I go into the soccer threads and do what I do is because they (soccer fans) do the same thing to the NFL threads. I could be wrong (feel free to correct me) but i can't remember a time (recently) that it's happened. Like i said, i'll take it back if i'm proven wrong but i cannae name a specific thread off the top of my head. I can't name a specific thread, but it has happened. This was not my intent upon coming into the thread at all, in fact my first response to the thread mentioned was more of a poke of fun than anything, and everyone took it very personally that I was a girl and had an opinion about sports o.o and when I kept getting quoted, I kept coming back. Sometimes I can be very pushy, and moody, and I suppose that can be taken in offense by some people but it generally wasn't intended, at least not that time. I just figured I was allowed to state my opinion even if it was the minority of the thread.

Well as an example, you've spent some time out of your life typing out about 15 lines asking an opinion, so i think you would have been a little annoyed if every reply was just a 'yes', 'no', or 'i don't know'. People who don't make an effort to do something to tell you why they like or dislike shouldn't be replying as it looks a bit spammy. Short replies with no real thought make it look like the poster is just trying to increase their postcount. Even worse for a new member that tries to start a discussion and doesn't get what they really want from the regulars.

However asking people who do not agree with you to not post, does not solve that issue. You just get a thread full of "I agree" comments. Some contrary statements (with explination) are need for many topics to keep going and growing.

As has been said, everyone has a right to their opinion, but lets see something more than answers with no real thought.

That way nobody has to ask why. It also prevents people from assuming my reasons, and then harassing me because they think I am being crude, rude, or stupid.

I don't really care..if I don't like something I'll just say it anyway. Think it's funny when people get all pissed off about it though.

if the thread is specifically for fans of something, i dont see the ponit in posting just to say you dont like it. go psot in a thread that's about something you do like instead. liek cheat sid there/s a difference between asking people their opinion on something, and asking for people who like a particular topic to discus it

Some people here lately just do it for the plus 1's and then try to start their overjoyed picture wars to derail threads.
