... Where's the logic in this?
And no, I'm not just referring to the Soccer thread that I invaded.. I'm talking about any subject. How does this make sense? What's the point of having a General Discussion board if you can't voice your opinion when it conflicts with someone else's?
Say I made a thread asking what your favorite Harry Potter book was, and someone jumps in and is like "NONE!!1! Harry Potter sucks!" I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch and tell you not to post in my thread. At that point it's like, "Alright, well you're entitled to your opinion, but I don't agree with it". And that would be the end of it. We'd go on discussing Harry Potter, not trying to chase someone away because they DON'T like it.
Same goes for Twilight. I've gone into more than one thread and voiced my opinion that I think it blows and left it at that. It's when I get harassed for having an opinion that I get bitchy and go back again and again to keep defending my opinion, which I have a right to have.
So, what do you think? Should we all just keep our traps shut about our opinions and either agree with a topic or stay out of it? Or keep on keepin' on with the "everyone has an opinion and should be allowed to state it"?
Just curious. Not intended to ruffle feathers.

Heck no. You have a right to an opinion and if the OP asks for one then as long as you are doing it constructively ( not bashing) then the OP has no recourse asking you to stay out of the thread.

Like that anime thread was, when someone said they hated anime a person was like, "THEN DON'T POST IN THE THREAD SOIFUSDOIFUSDOIFU!"
"OMG I HAD AN OPINION YOU DIDN'T LIKE I'M SO SORRY IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!"
Yeah.

I don't think, for the most part, people are generally trying bash people. I can understand if the thread is intended for discussion about something someone finds an interest in, and the annoyance that is felt cause when someone posts something negative; if someone posts in a thread with a reply like, "I don't like it," it doesn't necessarily contribute to the actual topic being discussed, right? I don't see it as 'not being able to have a voice'. I don't agree with people who have to jump down at someone's (say Poster a) throat for not liking something and then constantly berating them throughout the whole thread and therefore encouraing Poster a to keep replying. But, at the same time, there doesn't seem to be any point in someone posting something in a thread that's not asking if you like what's being discussed. edit: I also need to get the point across that I do think people are entitled to post, but I just don't see the point.

I have often wondered why a poster is told if they can not post with the topic to leave and do not come back. Ok my words, but it means the same thing.
I have even replied that as long as I sit here waiting for something to open, I am likely to leave a comment. My opinion might be someone elses complaining and vice versa.
Yesterday I posted in a thread and the original posted said people were messing up his thread. Ok. I deleted my post. Why can’t I just tell them to go suck an egg.
I know there will be some explanation given to your question, but I will not agree with it. We are here to talk, we are not here to be clones. I say as long as someone is not being mean, let them talk.
My feathers get ruffled everyday by the way a member talks to most people. I do not say it, because I will be the one told to shut up.

Its like rap threads, this happens all the time, people will bash it and say stuff like rap sucks, you have an opinion sure but there's no need to just post something like "I think its dumb" it just starts arguments with other fans. Those kinds of opinions aren't needed in threads.

"OMG I HAD AN OPINION YOU DIDN'T LIKE I'M SO SORRY IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!" Yeah. In the case of the anime threads. They were posted for those who LIKE anime, not for someone to bash or claim to hate anime. Or at least thats why I asked people to hold their evil hate to themselves in threads I started.

As long as you aren't posting in the thread just to bash for the sake of bashing I honestly don't see the problem in saying you don't like something.

People are allowed to have their opinions even if you don't agree with it.
The only reason I go into the soccer threads and do what I do is because they (soccer fans) do the same thing to the NFL threads.

If a thread has a question like "do you like harry potter?", then your opinion shall and will be voiced.
If a thread has a question like "which harry potter book/movie was your favorite?", and there is not an option for "none" and you dislike Harry Potter, then posting in said thread with "None. Harry Potter sucks" is pretty much trolling.. because all you're really doing is starting a flame in the fire since Harry Potter fans will be attracted to this thread.
I'm all for opinions, but doing it to piss people off in a thread where it's not a question of wether or not you like Harry Potter, or Soccer/Football, rather it's about something within these topics, I think it's rather childish to post your anti-opinion as that's not what the thread is about, and all you're going to do is derail the thread. If you don't have something to say about these topics when a "none" option isn't provided, I don't see why it's so hard to click the back button.

i think people post "ohh i don't liek this" for the sole sake of just adding to their post count Now see, not me. I'm more inclined to think that people who reply with ONLY a quote from another member or ONLY a smiley or a few words, those are to get their post count up. Why even post at all at that point? I think everyone should be able to voice their opinion. I don't like Soccer. You know what else? I don't like Mushrooms, they're disgusting. Or Milk. or Pickles. I think the Yankees suck and I love Anime, but I'll only get jumped for a few of those opinions. Personally, if you can't handle someone else not liking something, you probably shouldn't be posting about it. Not everyone is going to agree, and just because someone doesn't agree shouldn't limit them to being "allowed" to post about it or not. o.0

I could be wrong (feel free to correct me) but i can't remember a time (recently) that it's happened. Like i said, i'll take it back if i'm proven wrong but i cannae name a specific thread off the top of my head.
