Inspired by this thread, I've decided to make this one. Why, exactly, is homosexuality considered wrong? I'm very curious to see people's reasoning on this. If you don't think it's wrong, great, because I don't, but I'm interested to see the reasons from the people who do. EDIT: Please don't bash, flame, or disrespect anyone based on their opinion.

I don't necessarily think it's wrong. It's just not for me. as long as it's adults making their own choices it's up to them. Who am I to judge? If God really exists we'll all be judged in the end. It's up to him to judge, not me

Most of the hate against homosexuality comes from a Religious stand point. But what most Christians/Catholics/whatever ignore is each syn is equal.
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged" Matthew 7.1
In this case... their as bad as the people they're condemning. - Do I think homosexuality is wrong? I don't know, but I can definitely say it's not for me. Does anyone have the right to say it's wrong? Sure. But in that case do I have the right to yell out vulgar words to someone just because I don't like them? No.

People can think what they want of homosexuality, as long as they don't use their opinion to deprive others of rights. As for what I think of homosexuality, I can hardly say I oppose it Actually, I can't see how people can justify (even through religious text) homosexuality in itself i.e. the attraction. Even assuming that there wasn't translation errors through humans corrupting holy texts, what is condemned is that act rather than the attraction. The attraction is no more of a choice that liking Marmite. I will confess, I can sympathise with secular arguments against gay people. The noisiest of the LGBT people seem to be promiscuous and "showy". I'm not talking about a little bit camp - effeminate traits are innate to some people - I am talking about full on "in your face". And to be honest, it's quite annoying. Then again, although I am sympathetic to these points it's still not right to judge a gay/bisexual person based on this. After all, not all LGBT people are showy. Not all LGBT people are promiscuous. As for disliking it because it's ewwy, well... I find what heterosexuals get up to quite ewwy. Filthy heterosexuals Seriously though, if it's a relationship based on love then love should be cherished.

To me it's "wrong" because it's unnatural.
I do resent having their issues pushed in my face all the time (it seems) through the various media.
If it's what some people want to do, let them get on with it - but without all of the whingeing about "gay rights" and shoving their issues forward as if they were the biggest problem in the world - they're not - not by a long way.

Gay rights and gay pride movements wouldn't exist if people like you would just shut up about it being unnatural and wrong. And by the way, it is natural, it is scientifically proven to be natural. And if it's unnatural, perhaps you would like to explain the over 500 species in nature that display homosexual behaviour? And you don't think it's a big problem when "homosexual acts remain punishable by death in Iran, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, some parts of Nigeria and Somalia. Prison for life in; Barbados (Not enforced for in private – Under review) Bangladesh, Guyana, Maldives, Myanmar/Burma, Pakistan, Qatar, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Uganda." ( source). I would definitely say that it's a cause worth making a riff raff about.

Its wrong if its flaunted or paraded in my space other than that I don't give a rats ss in hell what people do. If someone is gay fine but yelling at the top of your lungs I AM GAY does not impress me in any way.

People will always resent people for their lifestyle, color, beliefs, sexuality. This leads to unequal rights/unfair treatment. For hundreds of year people found ways to down-grade a group of people. Woman & African Americans for example. One hundred years ago you would hear someone say it's just not right for them to have equal rights as white men, and now you hear it about homosexuals.
Sure you could say it's unnatural, but do their lives effect you? Are they coming into your homes taking your things? Are you weak minded enough to throw out your beliefs... just because two guys married? If so... then I would reevaluate your life. People have the right to the pursuit of happiness, and nobody should have the right to interfere.
Of course people do not care. People believe homosexuality is by CHOICE most of the time. Ask yourself what marriage means. Isn't it the ultimate symbol of love for one person? Even non-religious people marry because of what it means. Two guys cannot feel the same? Is their love tainted? No. Love is love...
Not hating on anyone who truly believes gay marriage is wrong, but looking down on them because they are fighting for their rights is sad. Gay's deserve the same rights as anyone else. This is America right? Land of the Free? It's more like... the land of the chosen few.

The Family: A Proclamation to the WorldThe church I go to is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which is a Christian church. We believe, as you see in the article above, that marriage is between a man and a women. We believe that God has told us not to be involved with homosexual acts, as it is wrong and frowned upon by the Lord. Thus, we don't want to disobey him and so we're going to not be gay. Easy right? Well it seems people don't like that answer. So I'll say that back then (when American first started) was homosexual marriage and all of that around? No, it was unheard of! The concept may have existed but you would be ashamed to be gay. Now? Apparently the government likes gays and no on else because people seem to be pushing prop 8.

Well it seems people don't like that answer. Actually, I think that answer is fine. The trouble is that people like you who hold those beliefs use them to deny gay people the same rights that you enjoy. If you believe marriage is just between a man and a woman, that's fine, don't marry another man then. Just don't deny other people who don't share those beliefs the freedom to do as they please.

WHAT I'm against is that Gays can FORCE churches to let them get married, not that they are ***.I hope I have cleared that problem.
