Believing that life exists elsewhere in the universe is too much of a stretch for you? Yet it's perfectly reasonable to believe in a God that requires one to suspend rational judgement? As I believe that God wouldn't create anything better than a human and we are truly works of art, it's not much of a stretch to say that there just isn't another perfectly positioned planet out there that's just like Earth for harbouring life. Billions of planets there might be but this planet is the only known one to have life and I don't think any number of year's worth of exploration would say any differently. I disagree. Doesn't the Bible say that God created other planets with life?

A species that murders many other species and eats them is a "work of art"?

So hypothetically, let's say next week, scientists find microbial life on Mars or Europa. What happens to your faith? Or what happens to your current statement about life? Just hypothetically, I know you don't think it will happen so just go along with me for fun if you will. Sidenote : Also I am slightly offended (even as a straight male) that you mentioned in another thread that you used to be both homosexual and atheist. One of those can change the other cannot.

One of those can change the other cannot.Well it wouldn't impact my faith, it would surprise me though. Although what I said in the earlier post makes it sound as if those two are tied together: my faith and the belief that no life out there exists, it wouldn't impact my belief at all even if they found humanoid like creatures there. It's just that I don't buy into the belief that there is life outside of the planet. In regards to your side note. I have sent you a PM on whether you want to see my testimony. If anyone else wants to see it, PM me, I'll PM it to you.

Hehe, if you see my welcome post, you'll note that I prefer the NIV over the KJA in authorative text. I'm willing to listen to any verses from the King James Bible that say that though.

Who told you God is a "he"? Man was created in God's image. Man needed a helper so he created a woman to help him. Luckily, the word "helper" where it describes woman in the Bible was often used to describe an inferior sort of helper. It was occasionally used to describe God. <3 Anyways, God isn't male or female. God is usually referred to as "he", though. "God is spirit..." (John 4:24).

Woman was created in the image of man with just a few changes so that together they would make an even better image of God. Jetta is right. The bible uses many words to described God. The problem is God isn't physical so he can't be described correctly with words. We are in the image of God not in appearance. Some of the things on our body signify things about God but they don't "Look" like God because you can't see God...our souls are also like God.

Billions of planets there might be but this planet is the only known one to have life and I don't think any number of year's worth of exploration would say any differently. What's the purpose of that? Why make so many planets (many = billions of billions of them) and only one puny planet has life. How mysterious of him Any version you want. As long there are at least 2 christians that believe in it. Altough some Christians say that Nephilim and Angels (!!!!!) may be aliens you know just to be prepared

You are free to use your faith however you want. You aren't restricted to just pure science and you have to believe what has tons of proof. We, however, are free to decide for ourselves if we wish to believe something or not.
