Posts changing point size

This happens quite often here on support and I have to go back and edit. This time I'm not editing so you can see an example.

I use the Preview editor and I don't know why a part of the post changes post size when I haven't coded it to do so.

Apart from the colors and width, due to possibly using a different theme, is this not how the post looks for you?

Wow. And I see this ~ the last paragraph is larger. And I just went to edit it to see what I could see. And there is a point size change (which I did not make!)

Did you happen to copy and paste any content at all when you made that post?

Nope. And it's not the first time. When it happens, I just "edit" and switch to the BBCode editor and wipe out the font change. It's not the first time.

I have NO idea why it's doing that or why I can see it and you can't.

I see when going to edit the post that it added a span, but that doesn't typically happen unless something was pasted into the visual editor. I'm afraid I wouldn't really be able to explain why it happened since I've never experienced the issue myself though. How frequently does it occur for you?

It never happens on my board where I use the BBCode editor as my default.

Here it happens perhaps 1 out of 10 posts. It's truly not a big deal. I just don't understand it. And thought you may have some insight as to the whys.

It's the post that begins with "Sorry" in one point size and the following sentence in another!

Honestly not sure as I haven't ever noticed this myself. Out of curiosity, is it only your posts that you notice this with? Or have you seen posts made by others that acts similarly?

Just mine. I'm odd that way! 

And when I do discover it, it bothers me ~ so I have to edit it. Now, I wish I hadn't.

As you can see, that post was only two lines ~ with a font size change put in place that I didn't do.

Do you use the Preview editor? 

In the BBCode editor, I can't use ProBoards default smilies. It leaves just a an empty rectangle.

I started a thread about it and David said it's normal when you have code installed for a reply ~ which I do on my board.

So I actually have problems with both editors ~ on both boards!

How odd. I just viewed this post in FF and there is no change in point size. It's perfect. So it's a Chrome issue.

I've noticed this occurring before in my posts, but I was never really sure why it was happening, especially when the font didn't seem to change - it was just surrounded by font tags that kept the text exactly the same.

I'll tag Keith Rozett in here, he probably knows more on why the visual editor adds spans.

David Clark You quoted this thread of mine in another thread and I'm glad you did. It's another where Keith Rozett can see the two fold problem of span/font size changing on it's own and the smilie converting to an empty rectangle.
