Forum URL: rufussewell.proboards.com/Hi, beginning this past Fri, whenever I use Insert Image to add multiple images, the second (and any subsequent) image wipes out whatever I've typed previously. In addition, the use of Ctrl + Z does not restore the deleted text. Sometimes hitting the back button on the browser restores some of it. This issue seems very similar to an issue someone else posted a question about several days ago. support.proboards.com/thread/489030/insert-attachment-wipes-textI noticed that when I call up the Insert Image box to add a second image, instead of saying http:// in the Image URL box, it quotes my entire post. The post is also quoted in the Alt Text box. Even if I delete that quoted text from both boxes and paste an image URL, all previous text is deleted. I'm attaching a screenshot of the Insert Image box to show you how it copies the text in the reply box (again, this is when I am inserting a second image--the first image is always inserted fine, even if I have typed text first). This also happens when I insert more than one smiley. So I'm having to open multiple windows to save everything I type, in case it gets deleted. A similar problem is the use of special fonts. For example, italics will be added to the whole post, even if I just select a few words, and even if I manually insert the codes. I don't know if that's related, but I thought I'd mention it, since the buttons seem to be selecting the whole box instead of the part that I actually highlight or where the cursor is. I'm using IE9. Thanks.

Hey Rueful,
Does this happen every time reproducibly, or is it more of an occasional thing? Does it occur regardless of whether or not you've got text highlighted in the post? I notice you're using the BBCode tab, has this happened to you in the visual tab as well?

Hi, thanks for checking this out. Yes, it's reproducible and happens every time (same thing for font codes). But it's new; the first time I noticed it was Friday. Prior to that, I hadn't been logged in or posted for a couple days. I've tried several times today, and it's happened each time. That's how I got the screenshot.
However, it hadn't occurred to me to try the Preview tab, so I just went and tried it. I tried pasting two pics and some text, and it did not happen. The Preview tab also applied the font correctly.

Sorry, I see I didn't answer one of your questions. It occurs whether or not text is highlighted. It's as if hitting the button itself for Insert Image or Italic or Bold or whatever highlights the whole reply box, regardless of where the cursor is.

Thanks for the details on that, Rueful. I just spoke to one of our devs on this issue who brought to my attention the fact that this is a known bug we're currently working on tackling. I don't have an ETA for when it will be fixed, but we are on the case and actively working to prevent this problem.

Oh, I'm always glad (and surprised) when it turns out not to be my fault. At least for now I can work in the Preview tab--that will make life much easier. Thanks very much for your help!
