Forum: ashleybeckhouse.proboards98.comI'm not sure if it's just my forum, or many or all, but my girlfriend has not yet recieved an email containing the activation code for her login. We have tried with several different emails over a period of 24 hours and nothing. <update> I have just tried with a private mail address (not hotmail) and recieved the email almost instantly. Does proboards not send activations to hotmail for some reason? And yes, I have checked the junk email folder every time as well.

Yes there is a problem with hotmail and us at the moment, they seem to be giving a 100% failure rate on our newer servers, yet when i test with non hotmail addresses i get the mail instantly
I am still trying to work around the problem by rerouting hotmail mails through other servers, but the system was never designed to route mail like this (after all you dont expect a mail provider to start blocking entire servers with no notice, or reasoning)

This has been going on for a while now with different email providers. Why not change the email addy to be something other than nobody@proboards.com ? Kapt~`'-

Kapt~`'- it would seem more reasonable to change the email to something like account_activation@proboards.com

The problem has been going on since V-4 came out. Thanks to useless email providers like AOL, some providers have gone overboard on spam filters. That's why I was wondering about changing the name of the message sent from here
Remember, AOL is not an ISP, it's an expencive virus
