Forum URL: sdgo.freeforums.net/Hello again, need more help. I decided to switch to a new theme (Root Beer) and now my Multicolored Categories plugin no longer works. The title bar color does not display color selected. I deleted the plugin & data and reinstalled with same result. Evan.

Hello, evangelion7890,
I use that plugin, as well, for one of my themes.
As soon as I read your post, I checked it out and it's working fine on my board.
I'll leave that theme as default for a bit, if you would like to check it out.

Hiya, the plugin worked fine on my shadow theme, but when I decided to switch to the root beer theme it didn't work. I really liked the plugin as it separates the different boards well along with the collapsible categories plugin. The theme author is Brian Ordonez, maybe he or a member of his team can shed some light on the problem. BTW, nice colorful site, very eye catching... Thanks...:Evan.

Thank you, evangelion7890! I like your site as well.
This may be a silly question, but are you sure you ticked the box in the Permission area for the Root Beer theme for that plugin? If it's not ticked, it won't be applied to that theme.
If you have, I'm sure Brian can help. They'll return 9am PST.

The plugin doesn't work with head and base images around containers and it appears that in that theme there is some modification resembling that!

Maybe Brian can somehow remedy that? Maybe I should switch back to my shadow theme as there are some other issues with the Root Beer theme has with other plugins. I really like this theme though as it was time for a new look to the site. Thanks...:Evan.

You can change it by hand. My forum uses this in the home layout template:
$[category.anchor]
{if $[category.odd]} <div class="red">{else}<div class="black">{/if}
And then you format the different colors using CSS. I used to be able to format each different category a different color by using a different variable to category.odd, but I forget how.
Anyway didn't really solve ur problem sorry but maybe a direction u can do research in to solve urself.

Or you could check the CSS of your theme and see what formats the categories there, and if there is a line that sets the gradient then remove that. Then that'd probably stop overriding the plugin.

evangelion7890, just as a note, though you're getting some good suggestions here, you should really be posting in the support thread for the plugin itself. Only the plugin author is really capable of fixing any bugs that may crop up. There should be a link to the support thread either in the plugin itself, or on the download page in the library.
Here's the link, just to make it easy though. support.proboards.com/thread/431878/plugin-multicolored-categories-1-4

Thanks again, but I'm not really a coder and it would be hit or miss, trial and error and explode. But I will have a lookie anyway. Evan.
