Sorry, a quick question: did you create a forum in the hopes of getting your question answered?

If so, there's been a little misunderstanding. This forum that you're currently reading is the support forum for PB software; Sossity was asking if you were a member of a forum hosted by PB that was about the item you need help with, and accidentally posted here instead of there.

You do not need to create a forum in order to get your question answered, but you may need to find a forum on this service that can assist you. Otherwise, I would recommend trying to find a support forum specifically for the thing you're talking about.

I don't see why you're exasperated lmao, things can still be weird even when there's clear reasoning behind it. 

the fight was really weird. that wasn't the tyson in training, and i have no idea wtf was going on with his mouth guard. it felt really off in multiple ways outside of the age difference.

for whatever it's worth: LOTR is a slog. hobbit is shorter, faster paced, and initially intended for children — not in a bad way, just that's why it's a bit more quickly engrossing. lotr can be exciting, but the pacing is much more akin to a history book (and the idea is that we are reading a translation of ancient texts) so the "slow burn" doesn't get much better.

this isn't to discourage you from reading it, but i want to a) levelset expectations and b) reassure you that it's okay to just like the movies. it's my favourite book, personally, but i will be the first to admit it's a slog.

if you truly, truly want to get through it and enjoy it, then my recommendation is to change your approach. don't try to get through it in one go, set a reasonable goal for yourself — X amount of pages, Y amount of chapters, etc. my dad introduced me to these when i was nine and since it was my first foray into the "little print" chapter books i had a similar reaction about its density / pacing. he kept setting goals for me like, "1 chapter by dinner" and "2 pages while we wait for the doctor", etc. by the time i reached the third goal, i wound up unintentionally exceeding it.

First off, we have a succession agreement officially set up with PB. Basically if the main admin passes away, ownership of the forum & main admin account will transfer to the person the main admin names.

Secondly, we have staff, and we have guidelines in place for how staff are supposed to behave. We only promote folks up that have been members for a long time + have proven themselves to be an example for other members through their actions and behaviour as regular members.

Ultimately, the question is what do you WANT to do? If running a forum by yourself seems daunting, do you want to / can you trust people enough to appoint additional staff? (and for the record it's okay if the answer to either or both of these is "no").
