Evolution is simply a compilation of these adaptations over a longer period of time. When enough adaptations occur, the resulting organism has differentiated enough from the previous species to be classified as a new species.

Not everybody here thinks the universe has been here because of god.

Gradualism is the idea that evolution occured evenly throuought time, as opposed to it occuring in large sections. It is not directly related to natural selection.

I Simply Do Not believe in evolution what so ever,but i do believe in Adaptation .Something could adapt to a changing enviroment,but i think man began as man, dogs began as dogs, and so on .They just adapt to the changing enviroment around them .I Do not believe that Something now evolved from something totally different back then.I find that a fairy tale sorry .I Believe God Created everything, even Science.

My science teacher in 7th grade even said that something can't evolve out of it's species (like a dog evolving into a cat)

What about the bacteria that has evolved into a new strain in the past ten years? That's evolutuion in a nutshell.
