It appears that we are currently the target of a DDOS attack. Forums will be loading slowly while we work to block this attack.
Right now I am working on adding additional servers into our cluster to help balance the load from this attack.
I apologize if I do not post frequent updates, I am the only staff member on at the moment while Martyn works on getting to a computer and I will be focusing my efforts on solving the issue as opposed to posting here as often as possible.
We have added 6 new servers into the mix to help balance the load. We are also seeing our connection numbers lower across the board.
We normally keep our server loads at about half of what they can handle so that in the case of a spike in traffic we can handle it without an issue. Today we saw spikes as high as 3x normal which resulted in some slow connections.
Right now it looks like the attack has slowed down a bit - I've seen a drop in connections by about 30%. Hopefully everything will be going full speed again quick here.
We have identified the forum that is the target of this attack. We are continuing to work to minimize the impact of this attack on our services.
All servers are now back online. You may still experience a slight bit of slowness, but overall right now things look like they are full speed ahead.
