[Debate] Why do you want to be an admin?

I wanted to become Admin because I wanted to create a place for me and my friends to just be us, and if people liked the way we were, they could join, and just enjoy it. I try to create a more casual atmosphere than many forums, and I just want people to have fun. That's it. No more, no less.

Well I wanted to make a forum and become and admin because I wanted to improve my designing skills, while creating a safe communitie that other can have a safe chat on. .

I was asked the members of another forum to make a forum for my main website. I was hesitant after seeing so many new forums go down with no members or guests. However I decided to take the plunge and if it turned into a ghost town then so be it.

However as my main site became more popular, so did the forum and all the forum's sucess is attributable to the main website which draws many visitors.

After a while, I discovered that I enjoyed being an Admin. I enjoyed sorting out disputes, updating and keeping my forum fresh, being able to implement new ideas and the general day to day admin duties.

I'd prefer to be an Admin assistant or 2nd in command , but I am admin of my forum because there were no other boards like mine and I saw a need and filled it . Usually I'm happier letting someone else make the major forum decisions and I'll enforce them .

I like to be in control, I have good fresh ideas and in the community I am in, it would be very difficult to exercise the fresh ideas being merely a member of another forum.

I have good organisational skills and my forum, considering the side of the community, has grown well over it's first year.

I cannot stand seeing "Invisible Members" on the who's online list LOL and hate to sit back as an admin drags their forum down into the ground.

I became an admin because on another fan club they had unfair rules, and I got banned from many forums, and others tried to make cool fan clubs but I wanted to have the feeling of being in charge, of being responsible, and of having control over the boards to make sure they are what I want them to be.

I usualy become an admin because I am tired of another forum and I want to try my hand at my own, for the experience, for the feeling of being #1, and the responsibility and watching members post away happliy and to be in control.

i made my own forum because i am a leader and i would rather be the leader of many people then become a victim to me them. sorry. lol
