I'd like to take a crack at describing what was happening to one of my three boards. if I may. When you scroll down a page, or your home page, the page goes down just so far and then jump up to the beginning; you try it again and does the same thing. I hope that describes the issue.

Does this happen while using:
1) your scroll wheel on your mouse? 2) Using "page down"? 3) Manually dragging the scrollbar on the right side of the page down?

Can you test the other methods and see if they cause the same issue?

1) Please fully describe exactly what the problem you are experiencing is. Page loads fine, goto log in but the page just refreshes and doesnt log me in, shows up at the bottom of the page that im logged in but i dont have access to my pm's admin section and im unable to post.2) What browser are you using? Internet Explorer 83) What version number is it? Version Number 8.0.6001. 18702IC4) Do you use any anti-virus software? If so what type including version number? Norton protection centre not sure of version number5) Are you attempting to access the forum via a bookmark? If so: No, i access it from my drop down menu and this is the URL shown in there when i load the page up
www.charnwoodcarclub.co.uk/5.1) Go into your Manage Bookmarks section of your browser and copy the exact URL that is bookmarked and paste it as your reply for 5.1. 5.2) After you open this bookmark in your browser, what does the URL say at the top of your browser when it is looping (copy and paste it exactly please)? 5.3) Try deleting the bookmark and typing in the URL to the forum manually. Are you able to access the forum this way? I also tried typing the url into the browser again and that didnt cure it, all help is great as i need to get back online again with my forum!!

My forum: londontaxi.proboards.comMy site: www.londontaxiforum.co.ukI am in the process of requesting the information you ask for from the members of my forum who are experiencing this problem (my inbox is filling up fast with people complaining they can't get into my forum!!). I will provide this once I have it. However, I would also like to ask about something else (forgive me if I should have put this in a new thread but this problem coincided with these other problems that people seem to have been getting since you did something to your site). As you can see I have a website londontaxiforum.co.uk and one of the navigation buttons is 'Forum' which takes you to the proboards forum page. This page embeds itself, via an iFrame zone, inside my site environment. Originally, this wouldn't work as proboards "took over" the screen and you would lose my headers/navigation buttons etc. One of your support chaps kindly provided me with all the code I needed to put in my global header which got around this and made the site look seemless as a result. HOWEVER, yesterday, at the same time as the login problems occurred, this stopped working! What was now happening was that when the proboards site loaded, the code that displayed my site header and buttons (i.e., the code executed from the global header) was displaying these items INSIDE the iframe panel that the proboards pages displayed in, hence the appearance was there were now two lots of headers and two lots of navigation buttons. Make sense? So basically the solution was to remove the global header code and this rectified the problem. However, the pages do not scroll anywhere near as nicely as they did under the old method. I now have a scroll bar on my main page as well as a scroll bar on the iFrame module which makes it all look very messy. Previously I didn't need any of this and it all worked itself out beautifully. The code for the iFrame is now as follows.... <iframe src="http://londontaxi.proboards80.com" width="920px" height="1555px" scrolling="no" frameborder="1" name="Forum"></iframe>Previously it looked like this <iframe src="http://londontaxi.proboards80.com" width="100%" height="100%" scrolling="auto" frameborder="1" name="Forum"></iframe>However, that second code method would not work at all since this situation occurred as the '100%' settings just wouldn't size the page properly. It kept loading the proboard pages inside a frame that was way too small basically. Hence I've had to put manual sizings in and its rubbish quite frankly (view the site via londontaxiforum.co.uk/forum.aspx and you'll see what I mean... thats assuming you can get logged in of course!!! Pick a thread that has a number of pages to get the full effect, i.e. one that goes the full length of the page). On a normal monitor you can get to where you want to be on a page, however, on my iPhone, I could view my site 100% perfect but now I've had to put the manual sizings on the iFrame module, I can't, for example, scroll to see the 'View 20 most recent posts' link on the main page because its simply out of view and the scroll bars don't display. Its all very frustrating given that this site has worked perfectly with many happy users for ages and now for no apparent reason its knackered and I spent virtually a whole day trying to put it right yesterday! Again, if you want me to start a new thread on this issue let me know and I will do so but it seems a coincidence that it happened at the same time as the login problems. Cheers and I'll get the info on the users with the login problems and put them on here once I have them. UPDATE: I was going to post a link to a page you could view to witness the terrible scrolling now on some web pages but I now cannot get the 'Link to Post' option to work either!!! Previously when I clicked on links to threads the URL address bar in IE would show the proboards url but now it just keeps displaying my container page address "www.londontaxiforum.co.uk/forum.aspx". I have to view my forum by direct linking to the proboards address to achieve this. Anyway, if you look at londontaxi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=taxistreets&action=display&thread=897&page=1#10547 you will see what I mean about scrollbars within scrollbars. It looks and feels awful. Previously it didn't do this.

We have removed the break out of frames code at this time. However, we can't guarantee whether or not it will come back.

Can you test the other methods and see if they cause the same issue? Patrick - The problem with just one or my three boards was resolved night before last - I was merely describing the "jumping" complaint as voiced by me and others at that time. All is well with me now. Thanks. Pete (The Oldfella)

I have two problems.
I am experiencing the refresh loop problem (the login page just continues to refresh and repaint the screen with no opportunity for me to enter anything on screen) from my XP machine running Internet Explorer.
On my Vista machine I have the same problem being described by Pumajay. Just starting yesterday -- when I enter my username and password to login I see my name appear as a user online, but I am not in fact logged in, the Welcome Visitor please login or register still shows above and on the site I am unable to do any of the things that I could normally do if logged in like post a message, reply, modify or send a message to a member. Deleting temp files, cookies and forms did not correct the problem. I am using Vista Home Premium edition and Internet Explorer version 7.0.6000.16830.

Please READ the first post and respond accordingly. Only responses with the requested information are helpful. Sorry for mini modding, but it's just reminding some members. Patrick, the problem seems to have disappeared for me, I was having issues when browsing on my Wii.

In which case could you explain please as I'm not technically inclined enough to understand what that means. Have to say I'm a little perturbed that you have clearly made a number of changes to the internal mechanism of your site which have caused untold problems to people. I would have thought you should regress these changes while you sort the problems out.

1) Please fully describe exactly what the problem you are experiencing is. I have the forum embedded into my website (www.bluegrassbicyclebmx.com). It loads only 1/2 size in window and is not letting people log in. When I access it through a bookmark, it loads fine and logs in fine.2) What browser are you using? IE 83) What version number is it? 8.0.6001.187024) Do you use any anti-virus software? If so what type including version number? avast! version 4.8 Home Edition - build Feb. 2009 (4.8.1335)5) Are you attempting to access the forum via a bookmark? If so: My bookmark is ok. Website users are accessing through link on my website - this is where forum is not functioning properly.5.1) Go into your Manage Bookmarks section of your browser and copy the exact URL that is bookmarked and paste it as your reply for 5.1. www.bluegrassbicyclebmx.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=logout5.2) After you open this bookmark in your browser, what does the URL say at the top of your browser when it is looping (copy and paste it exactly please)? www.bluegrassbicyclebmx.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=logout - It isn't looping.5.3) Try deleting the bookmark and typing in the URL to the forum manually. Are you able to access the forum this way? I've re-embedded to the website, but does not fix problem and I have no problem with bookmark.

This may, or may not prove helpful to others having JUMPY problems with their site.
I inadvertently changed the size of the print on my site, by holding down the CTRL button, and scrolling on the mouse.
It kept my board from scrolling properly, and the board was not loading fully, plus, the print was lighter.
I hope this helps someone..
