I have sky as my ISP and i called them twice as have been unable to access forums for 2 days. The first guy suggested in a patronising manner i contact each of the pro-boards myself to get them to report the problem. I spoke to someone else who said sky have shut down access to pro-boards as their IT team were finding very bad virus's over past 2 weeks that basically eat into hard drives- bit scary. He said they are trying to solve problem and was shut down for our safety. Yeah thanks for letting us know though. He said if they couldn't resolve it it would be down to each subscriber to ask for it to be re-activated at their own risk and basically if we got the virus sky would shut down our entire internet access. Im not great with the techy stuff but seemed a little bullying to me. if this is true, it would explain the three trojans i've recently had.

After faffing about with my connections/settings, SKY told me it's nothing to do with them and I had to contact the owner of the problem site I couldn't access.
So, are we just left in a limbo?
What happens next?...scratch head!!

I'm unsure if Martyn was able to speak to someone a little higher on the pay scale or not, but we were told that they're (Sky is) looking into the situation and should have a solution later today. I can assure you we're working on it and a solution will be found soon; just need a bit more time yet

Not sure if this is the same issue.
I have a number of members who cannot log into our forum, and are getting "Sorry, but you have been banned from this forum" messages when trying to log in. They have not been banned.
Common factor seems to be that they are either using BT, or one of it's resellers. I've traced a couple of their last log in IP addresses back to a major BT Proxy in Ealing. Could be a routing issue ?

if this is down to sky then why cant other members who are using a variety of providers access the forum? just an innocent question We had an issue with PlusNet and it's affiliates the other day, but that's been a solved issue. And the issues from yesterday should be solved as well. If you have users who are getting blocked, and are not using Sky, can you get more info about what ISP they're using, or perhaps get them to post here as well so we're made aware of it? Not sure if this is the same issue. I have a number of members who cannot log into our forum, and are getting "Sorry, but you have been banned from this forum" messages when trying to log in. They have not been banned. Common factor seems to be that they are either using BT, or one of it's resellers. I've traced a couple of their last log in IP addresses back to a major BT Proxy in Ealing. Could be a routing issue ? They shouldn't be getting a message saying they're banned from the forum if they're experiencing this issue. Can I perhaps get you to create a new support topic, with the URL of your forum and the usernames of the members that have reported this issue to you?

Isn't all this Sky talk a bit of a smokescreen as there are a lot of people with different ISPs complaining as well? It was just bad timing. There was another brief issue which did affect everyone. That is why there was a few replies of other ISPs, then it went back to only reports of sky again.
