Day 27 Recap

Patrick had become sick and sluggish since being attacked. The others were nervous and decided they would need to find help for him. So they left him and headed south. They drove slowly through the neighborhoods, occasionally stopping to search. They found nothing, most of the houses in this part of town looked run down and destroyed. They found what looked like survivor holdouts that had been overrun.

Eventually they found a big house that looked secure and decided to hold out for the night.

The group climbed into Peppers car and headed through the burnt neighborhood to the unburnt house. They encountered no zombies. Apparently most of them had gone swimming the night before.

After arriving Pepper and Maven scouted in different direction while Adam and Etc prepared for the coming night.

In the early morning hours Pepper awoke with a start. Adam was crouched next to her, the keys to the car in his hand. He just had a big smile on his face. "What the..." Pepper said looking at the car keys and then back at Adam.

Oh FFS, we're practically back where we started! >.< We might as well just make our way West along the Southern perimeter and try to meet up with the other group at this point.

Then again, whatever's directly North of us has a wall around the perimeter, and what's West of that appears to be the highest point on the map, assuming I'm following the concentric elevation markers correctly. They're a bit closer to the asylum than I ever care to be again, but walls are built for a reason.

I think one of my actions today will be to scout North. Walls are built for a reason, after all.

I agree. However, if the other group manages to get the boat working, then we actually would be able to escape. It says the boat can hold three people, I think, right? Seven of us are still alive (for now). So:

Three go over, one comes back, five are on the shore.
Three go over, one comes back, three are on the shore.
Three go over and we're all safe

"I didn't mean to wake you up." Adam said to Pepper, smiling. "I wanted to take a look at the car's fuel pump, like Maven suggested."

Adam began to stand slowly, never taking his eyes off of Pepper. "If you are ready to get up, I wouldn't mind a little help." He backed slowly out of the room.

"M-My fuel pump?" Pepper mumbled, confused and still rather sleepy. "Why...?" He wasn't suggesting... no, they wouldn't destroy her baby, would they? She had a chainsaw, they'd better not mess with her... but as Adam backed away and out of the room, she jumped up and followed after him, curiosity getting priority over her worry of what they might do to her precious car.

As Pepper and Adam walked together to her car, Adam explained, "Yesterday, WildMaven suggested we use your car's fuel pump to replace the boat's. Do you think that will work?"

Before Pepper could respond, he asked about the thing at the helicopter drop zone. (I sent you a PM)
