Wildmaven's body fell back into the boat, rocking it violently. Blood began gushing from her neck. Adam struggled to lift himself up on one knee and coughed violently, holding his chest. The pressure caused pain where the bullets had been stopped by his protective gear. He could feel deep bruising beneath his skin.

"Ugh! I've never been shot before." he said casually, looking up to Etc. and Pepper, smiling. "That hurt."

He shook off the pain and rose to his feet, taking a deep breath. His empty hand moved up to his ear and he winced, drawing back a few bloody fingers. "That was really close."

Adam looked down and took a step backwards, opening his view to Wildmaven's limp body. "I knew her, you know." He said, as he looked up to the other girls.

"Master Chefs always know their own kind." He explained, "She was amazing. I watched her. While she cooked. She was a master with the knife. The way she carved meat, chopped vegetables. Flawless."

His smile faded and he took on a sullen look, peering down at his Katana. "She shot me. Why? Why did she shoot me?" He looked at Maven's body again and shook his head. "I didn't expect her to shoot me. If she had come at me with and edged weapon, I would have certainly lost. Her skill was worlds beyond mine. She was amazing. Perfect. The most beautiful creature I had ever seen."

He looked down at Wildmaven's robe, stooped down, and drew out her gun. "I hate guns." he said, throwing it into the river.

Adam's eyes began to well up with water and for the first time, the girls watched as Adam blinked, forcing out a single tear that traveled down his cheek and settle on his lips. Salty he thought.

"Well," Adam said with a sigh, "there is only one way we can honor such a Legendary Chef." Adam stepped behind Wildmaven, into the pool of blood and knelt down beside her. The other two girls nodded and prepared to help Adam bury her, but Adam suddenly exclaimed, "We must eat her! She will live on inside of us!"

Eat...Wildmaven? Pepper wanted chocolate! She wanted candy, or pizza, or Rotton Ronnie's! Cannibalism was not something she had ever, or ever intended to, try."Aaaaaadaaaam," Pepper made the word into a song, amused with herself. "I... I think Wildmaven would understand if we just buried her... or sent her body on a little sea-faring journey down the rivers. 'Cause, ya know, it's like... late and stuff, and the zombies are gonna be out soon. Plus, I don't fight too well after a big meal."

Day 30 Recap

The four held their position for the day, reinforcing the bus and looking around for any useful items.

Just before sunset, less than a quarter mile away a large black metal box sat in the middle of an intersection. A low hum could be heard in the vicinity. A small panel turned around, the glow of red digital numbers displaying across a screen. An alarm sounded.

Everyone sat in the house preparing for night fall when suddenly a blaring alarm emanated from the north east. It came in 5 short bursts.

"What was that?" Asked Ren. But no one answered her.

Stronghold – (24) House 69/100
Rations - 9+6-4=11

Patrick(5) Infected - Found 6 Rations and nothing else.
Phaelyn(5) Infected - Restedx2
Derek(5) - Found a folding chair (item) and reinforced the bus +3
Ren(4) - Found a medkit (item) and nothing else.

They had buried Maven by the river, and afterwards Axel had refused to leave the spot. The three survivors made their way across the rapid river. As the water splashed up and over the side of the boat the three were silent. Etc overwhelmed with what had transpired. Pepper suffering from a mental break down. Adam disappointed at the waste of a perfectly good meal. They made it safely to the opposite shore.

They climbed from the boat and looked around. A farm was nearby and they found a Red Pickup truck, the keys were in the visor and the three drove off into the sunset.

Night 30 Recap

The four had seen zombies in the night, but none had attacked the house. They were all slowly walking in the direction that they alarm had com from. A short time after midnight the alarm sounded again. This time only four bursts.

The four sat nervously wondering what it could mean. As the sun began to light the sky on the eastern horizon the alarm sounded again.

[For everyone playing, I find it hilarious that I had events preplanned since the beginning and that things are proceeding in the way that they are. The timing of the boat escape is quite miraculous really.]

I say we revisit the Southwest plan. If the zombies are suddenly migrating in one direction, going in the opposite direction is probably not the worst idea in the world.

We had a good group. Pepper and I took a huge chunk out of that map.

I knew there was a chance you would specifically aim at my head so I wasn't surprised when you did, but yeah I was thinking, OH CRAP!

But no matter how it turned out, I was really pleased with the story. Our standoff was pretty epic. I was nervous and excited the entire day waiting to see how it was going to play out!

-Was reading through- I forgot I had a butcher knife at some point... Adam coulda had fun with that, too. Though I think its head chopping capabilities would have been lower than the Katana.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that. I was just going off of how the living in general have all been called survivors. Well, I guess now I'm rooting for the... uh... non-survivors who are surviving?

I think we need to do something about the alarm thing...it might be a bomb or something. We need to to something drastic before the end of today. Ideas?
