I completely cleared my cache and temporary files before doing what you suggested, so that it wasn't bringing up something it already knew. Here's the screenshot: Can you tell me what the speed of your internet is or what type it is? Testing on my home computer, I connect to the login page in 366ms (about 10x faster than you for some reason). I know it's slow, but out of all the sites I use all day long, the ProBoards login takes the longest for some reason. I'm using a PCD Pantech UMW190 wireless device for my laptop right now. Hopefully in a week I'll get real internet service at our new house. However, we don't get great internet out here in the desert.

You'd think out here in the middle of nothingness we'd have a great signal. I edited my post above while you were writing your post, so you probably missed the part about the ProBoards login page being the slowest of all the sites I visit. Just wanted to be sure it wasn't something that was affecting others. I'm a patient person, so I can wait for it to load.

Thanks for your help, Patrick [ASE] and for the other helpful information on this thread. I'm starting to get used to my Betazone copy now and I'm quite enjoying it. Another question, though... when creating a post, is it possible to preview before saving the post and how do you do it? Apologies if I sound dumb. Edit: Oh, and I've just noticed I can't work out how to, "bump" a post. I've gone into, Actions, Moderate, Bump, but it doesn't seem to work. I've also tried ticking the box (sorry, I'm UK... checking the box) and going through the same process, but still the threads stay put. Watch this space, I'm sure I'll have more dumb questions. The "Visual" option is a preview of what your post will look like. If you are in BBCode mode, just click Visual at the bottom left. If you are already in Visual mode, then what you see is what your post will look like. Thank you for explaining that, Patrick.

So it will be slower than a normal connection, just like any secure server would be.

The more I play with BetaZone, the more I like it. I'm ready for the real launch!
On another note, will all the members of my forum have to change their sign-in information, like I had to, once this is launched? For someone not overly computer literate, it can be troublesome.

We actually just put out a chance the other day; you can still login with your username if you want.

At the moment you can only make a copy of your current forum for testing and bug finding, it is expected that by the end of the year the transition period will start (subject to change), please check This thread for the table of events

It looks like I'll have to wait until the transition time to do the upgrade. I see it as a very good thing!

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I keep seeing 'yes you can export it' (ie the work done in test software to real forum) I can't seem to find how it is done. So where is this option?

Hey Julian D, you can export the work you've done on your BetaZone forum through your admin control panel. Navigate to Themes > Theme Manager, and there will be a tab on that page labeled "Export". From here, you'll be able to download a .pbt file that contains all of the work you've done on that theme as far as styles, colors, and layout template modification. If you have multiple themes, you'll want to make sure you export them all individually. These files can be uploaded onto any v5 forum, including the original version of your BetaZone copy when you upgrade.
