That's the account upgrade process. It takes just a few seconds and you're done, it will send you right back to the forum -- logged in as normal.

As stated above, Global login is necessary as a secure login, there is no way to avoid using it If you are a member of several forums, it's actually a lot easier for you, as it's just a couple of clicks to switch accounts.

Hi Shibata Tim,
I understand what you are saying when you say you don't want to use the global system. However, as explained by both Patricks above me this feature is the only way to login.
If I could make a suggestion. Go ahead and upgrade your account to the Global Login. i know you don't want to use any of the features it offers. This is okay. Just go ahead and upgrade. After you've done so I want you to go to forum. If you are logged in, do me a favor. Log out. Now I want you to click login again. You will be taken to the normal login screen. Enter your EMAIL and password and login.
I hope this makes you realize that logging in for you will be the same as always. The only difference is you will use your email instead of your username. For you, nothing will be different. Just login with 2 bits of information and use the forum like everything has always been. No other global features need ever be used by you. if you don't want multiple accounts or you don't want to be a member on other forums no one is forcing you. Just one account on your forum and it will be the same as always.
Just try that for me. I'm sure you'll see there's really no difference from what you are currently used to.
Thank you.

I appreciate the Staffs time and patience. I guess what my real issue is just linking my accounts and then that brings up the issue itself. I have a few accounts on a single forum that I don't want to visit that said site and be logged in as all of them at once. The rest of the forums that I visit will be just fine as the Global Log-in Feature will be quite useful; it's just that one(or multiple) sites.

I hardly use my global account as such, i just go to the forum i want to login to, and login like i always have with V4, i then have the option of logging out Not sure if switching accounts logs you out (i think it should and you could test that)

When you go to login, it will ask you which account you want to be logged in as. You just click the account and move on It will only show that one account as online.

However, continuing with Mr. Patrick Clinger; It did indeed ask me which one I wanted to be logged into. Unfortunately, in the 'Users Online' section of the index page of my Test(copy) V5 BetaZone of my forum it displayed both accounts as online.

I did indeed just simply switch over to the other. Guess I must log out and then re-log into the one that I wish to use. Other than that, thanks a lot Staff of Proboards!! This feature may be of some use after all :0

Great video Ryan Roos, explains it all very clearly and I will be posting it on my board when the switch is made to V5!
For now, I have a question... I think Patrick [ASE] may have answered it a ways but I just want to make sure I have it right.
I'm the owner of record of my board but I share the Main Admin account with my fellow Admins. If I linked the Main Admin account to my Global Login Account, will we still be able to share the Main Admin account?

It is never a good idea to share the main admin account, especially in V5 as second admins can have nearly full control, you just need a fallout with one of the admins and your board could be gone.. What's the point of Proboards making your accounts more secure if you are just going to leave the key under the doormat.
I just have to ask why you need to share it ?

What's the point of Proboards making your accounts more secure if you are just going to leave the key under the doormat. I just have to ask why you need to share it ? The Main Admin account has some technical "capabilities" that second Admins don't have (I know, I've been a second Admin acting as Main Admin for a few years before recently making the change of ownership official) and we want to make sure that if one of us isn't available for any reason, the others can deal with any problem that pop up. Also, one of the second Admins is more technically adept than I am so, it makes sense that she has access, especially with the version update.
EDIT: I just checked out the Members permission and I believe you're right Patrick [ASE], I pretty much gave the Admins accounts (including my own) pretty much full powers. I guess we'll see how it works out! Thanks!

I believe the only thing that a second admin can't have in V5 is the delete forum option, so there really is no need for others to share main admin Check it out on the betazone forum

Thanks Patrick! I just found that part of the Beta Board! I'm just so used to V4 permissions that I didn,t even think it was possible in V5!
