Is this the case in all threads? I can't imagine why it wouldn't be, but I'll test another thread. Todge, I tested another thread and was still able to edit and delete if I wanted to. I am going to test something else. Will report back later. Todge, well that didn't work either. I thought maybe it wasn't letting me limit both at the same time so I tried to limit just editing after an hour and checked it after 5 or so hours and it still let me edit.

Is this the case in all threads? Well, I have tried many settings and can't get it to work as set up. I have tried 4 hours, 6 hours. Then tried 1 hour, then 50 minutes, which 4 hours later I can still edit and delete. I'm watching it though. I even found an code you had for the global header an footer and tried that. Didn't work. At some point down the road it eventually works. I think it varies though depending on the time set. If I set it for 4 hours it might work after 8 hours or something. I'm watching it now to see how many hours after the 50 minute set, the options disappear. Its been 4 so far. What I was wondering though is, could this be made to have a different time limit for editing, than for the deletion? Ideally I would like to limit the edit to 4 hours and the delete to 12 hours. But after days and multiple tries, I'll just be glad to get it to work at all. I was wondering if the first two hours might get thrown off because of the time stamp. When you hit an hour it will say about an hour ago. Anyway, that is where I am at with this thing. When it finally kicks in, I'll come back and edit in how long it took to remove those options. Edit: I'm not going to be able to figure out how long it takes to kick in. Its been 7 hours now and I can still edit and delete that 50 minute timed edit. I know the plug in works eventually though because tests from the 5th can no longer be edited. I'm not sure why there is a huge delay. 13 hours later and I can still edit or delete that post.

That IS weird.. The time is worked out from the timestamp when the thread was made, and compares that to the current time according to your PC. I'm don't think that this should make a difference, but, is the clock on your PC correct, and have you set the time on your forum to the current time difference according to GMT? Also, are there any other timestamps on your forum that have been added via plugins or codes?

Also, are there any other timestamps on your forum that have been added via plugins or codes? No my system clock is right and I do have the right time on my site. and no on that last. I didn't even know there was one. I've reinstalled 105 to see if it works again for me. Do you still have version 1.0.7 some place? Edit: That one above finally kicked in somewhere between 13 and 16 hours. I tried 1.0.5 and set it for 1 hour but after 3 hours can still edit. I need to come up with something that works. I have a member that when I edit their post they go in and re-edit it back. I'd like to remove that option via a plug in. Might even be nice if we could set it differently for different posters. I was going to try clearing the key but there isn't one. Would a key make it work better or more reliably? I know I had trouble getting this plug in to work a long time ago. Another Edit: I went back to the 1.0.8 version. set edit to 60 minutes and removed delete option. The removal of delete option was a success, will check after a bit on the timed edit. It seems to be the timed edit that just will not work for me and I really don't like removing it without members having at least an hour or so. They should be able to remove double posts and conversely with the edit, have a chance to fix typos.

You should be able to select version 1.0.7 from the 'Version Selector' dropdown option in the library.
If it removed the Delete option successfully, it should remove the editing option too, do you have any plugins or templates that effect the editing button?
And yes, I could use a key to store the posting time, that would ensure the plugin is using the correct time to compare to, ensuring it would work with any other plugins, codes or templates, the only reason I didn't use a key is because the necessary data is right there on the page, and seemed a waste of a key to do so, but if we can't get this to work I will write one.
Also, plugins are invisible on the mobile app, so no matter how it is written, it is not currently possible to stop people from editing or deleting their posts while using that.

Well 6 hours later and I can still edit. And that is with version 1.0.8 There aren't that many plug ins that deal with editing. I didn't want to remove the edit option until after 2 hours. And the delete after say 6 hours or something. I was just experimenting thinking that maybe it wouldn't let me time the edits and the deletions so thought I would test it this way. But it didn't matter, the edit is still unaffected. I was going to use the plug in that removes the last edit information or hides it, but it removed the code for back to the top in each post so I scrapped that idea. Seems they were both using the same spot or something. Sorry, I don't know what to call it.

You have a code that adds an extra button within the posts??
Try disabling that and see what happens.. It'd possible the code is working fine, but is targeting the wrong button.
Also, if you want a different time limit on the edit and delete, it will need a new plugin anyhow, so if we can't get this to work, I'll see about creating another plugin that uses a key instead, and that can have different times for each option.

That was the first thing you had me try, back on the last page. It didn't work. But, I disabled it again,

Hmmm...
Do you have any timestamps anywhere on your forum other than the normal ones supplied by PB.. Or have you removed any?

Disabling the added button didn't help so I am going to renable it. I set it to 50 minutes for both edit and delete and after 5 hours they are both there.

I have just logged into the site you gave me a while back and it appears to have no threads or posts...
I assume this is a test site, if so, could you please set up a thread for testing and add this plugin to that site too so I can do some testing.
Thank you.

That's a discarded board from a very long time ago. I didn't create that one which is why I haven't deleted it. Notice that liberty is misspelled.
