Use the Custom width feature and specify your own width.

The background won't be lost and neither will the images.
The themes manager is very easy to use.
I've found v5 to be very easy.
Some tweaking needs to be done with the new theme manager, but, it's very easy to pick up.

thanks guys It means a lot that you helped me.

Yeah figured most of it out once I could find the right plug in and the right things in the right sections then It was a piece of cake for me.

I had uplouded the side bar plugin as well as the different banners for different boards plug in...which helps to keep the background color on the home page a soild color instead of the orginal white and blue before you tweak with it.

As far as the images go they dont show up unless you go in and click on the images on the layout your useing at the time for main page and personal page lyaouts.I wasn't sure if anyone knew that part or not.

But I got everything the way I want it so far...and got the side bars the size I wanted it as well.It is a lot easier after you twea with different codes and use the right combination for the right thing.

I wonder if there is a plug in to have the numbers at the button of the thread for each page instead of the top.With the new version I keep forgetting that, to go to the different page.I have to scroll all the way back to the top to click the next page.

Is there a code for it...or has it not been suggested yet?

HELP! HELP! I feel like I am drowning with this PBv5 around me. I am new on here. I am absolutely terrified of this proposed imminent change from 4 to 5 about which I know nothing and understand less. I don't have video software on my computer so I cannot watch the video. I operate 2 sites www.lhpm.proboards.com and www.lthopm.proboards.com. Am I about to lose everything on them and be unable to access them to administer them? I wish some human being might be kind enough to send me an email explanation of this change over to [e-mail] which I cannot now access for about 48 hours. My sites operate free supported by adverts. Is this new arrangement going to cost me money? If so how much? A lot of people access my sites and if they are about to disappear it will be a nightmare trying to get in touch with them. At 75 life is stressful enough without this.

Transferring to PBV5 am I still going to be able to use the existing web board site names and access them directly through Google ?

Will they be automatically transferred?

Do I just sit back and let this happen and all will be well?

You will not lose anything.

You will not lose access to the forum.

ProBoards forums are free.

Your forum will not disappear.

You will keep the same URLs (lhpm.proboards.com and http://lthopm.proboards.com). If the sites were showing on Google, they will stay there.

If you do nothing, the forums will be automatically converted to V5 some time after the 29th. If you want to convert now, you can do so via the link above your admin panel.

V5 is simply a software update. Many things have changed to become easier to use and more secure, but this is simply the next generation of ProBoards software.
