Huzzah! It probably just needed time to propagate through Sphinx.
It is mysterious indeed...

Not really sure I understand this thread ... but, I do have the plugin that Worm put together .. just not sure if it's working correctly, but either way ... it's at least appearing as a link when you hashtag.

the current issue is that the search server doesnt have the latest post index right away. so results may vary. I can put out the plugin as-is.. because it does do what its supposed to do, but I cant take any blame for it NOT doing what its supposed to do. what I am hoping, is that somehow a fantastic realization about the search server will come along and it will dramatically increase the response time of the search results.. not just for this plugin, but for everyone in general.

Wormopolis In my forum, it appears that it is resulting other posts when clicking on the hastags posted now ... but, nothing prior to posts that have been posted using the hashtag prior to using the plugin. For example, if I used #bump after the plugin was used .. it seems to pick up those posts having used #bump .. but, no #bump's prior to the plugin being implemented. Makes sense, I guess. Anyway, it seems that going forward there's promise with this plugin and am excited that it appears to be somewhat working. Just an FYI.

yeah it wouldnt find previous posts because they werent converted. but you can fix that by editing that post, and when you re-save it gets converted.
goes back to the search server ignores the # symbol. I cant do anything about that

I found a new one as I was playing with it to try and use it to link together story arcs on SHIELD - it targets anything with a # before it including hexdecimal colour codes within style tags - would there be any way of making it so that it 'ignores' anything linked to or if the # had : before it type affair? So if it was background-color:#000 it wouldn't convert that hash tag? Editing to tag in Wormopolis as I noticed it was some time since last post date

I know I normally space so you have Tagging: #hashtaghere
The only other suggestion is the code checks if the # is in a style=" " line or similar?

I was trying to work out 'variables' that would stop it converting the inline css hexdecimal code # if they matched in there that was the first call so if you can work out a 'better' method I don't mind - that was my immediate thought
