I paid to go ad free and was browsing through admin and noticed that the pageviews get used while in admin. Why is this? I don't think that is fair to the forum members purchasing ad free and using up page views while editing settings. I personally think admins and moderators should some how be excluded from pages fews

Hey Wckd,
While I don't think it's likely that staff members accessing the admin control panel would be made exempt from consuming ad-free pageviews (as ads do appear in the admin panel as well, of course), I think it's not a bad idea to add a setting similar to "Remove ads for Guests" for something like in the admin panel, just for the few forums whose admins spend a lot of time navigating the settings and such.
EDIT: See Pat's reply below.

Thanks for the quick reply. It was definitely from me browsing. When I tested it I had no members or guests online. I counted pages I clicked and went back to admin ad free area and sure enough it went up the exact number I clicked.
Hope something can be done.

To clarify, Wckd, you are consuming ad-free pageviews when navigating your admin panel, because normally there are ads in there as well - they are being removed by your ad-free and therefore consume a pageview. This is intended behavior.

This is intended behavior. I understand what you are saying but I do not think those should count as admins are sometimes clicking alot of areas to edit things. Or just plan browsing the forum to ensure everything is in order. Does what I'm saying make sense or am I just talking crazy LOL

This is intended behavior. I'm not contesting the del facto intended behavior. I actually agree with Wckd in that an admin can spend an enormous amount of pageviews just doing their regular tasks in the admin console. It would nice to see exemptions just in the admin console since all forums share the admin system (being a PB-back end entity). But again, that's an intended behavior. I only post my agreeance to the suggestion.

Every time that our web server loads a page for you, it takes computer resources. This happens on the main forum as well as in the admin panel. Both sections have ads, and ad-free removes ads in both areas. We even reduced the price of ad-free (if you do a recurring subscription) in our new software, from $7 to $6 for 50,000 pageviews. This, even though ads make more money than ad-free does. Just some thoughts

Or have an unhappy forum owner that seeks other options. I'm sure you will agree a happy customer is always a better customer.

Of course we want our customers to be happy. At the same time, our ad-free service removes ads. Each page we remove an ad from counts as 1 ad-free pageview. Even if you view 20 pages a day in your admin panel (which honestly, is a lot), you're talking about 600 pageviews a month - just over 1% of the basic package of ad-free. I don't think you are using up as many pageviews as you think you are just browsing around the admin panel.

A quick question about the recurring subscription, Patrick: The Purchasing Ad-Free page says "Charged on the first of every month", however are the credits delivered in time to manually keep forums ad-free, or are the credits applied automatically to each proceeding month? Thanks, Keith, Admin divineinterventionws.proboards.com/

Thanks, Keith, Admin divineinterventionws.proboards.com/I'm not positive I totally understood the question, so correct me if I misunderstood: Its important that I mention that the credits system has been done away with along with v4.5, just to make sure there isn't any confusion there! When you sign up for ad-free (most likely not on the beginning of the month) you get a pro-rated price for the amount of time you have to use your page views. Say its the 22nd, the pro-rated price will be lower than it would have been on the 5th. Once you reach the end of the month, you are charged the full amount for the ad-free subscription that you selected, and then the "normal" cycle begins. As long as you maintain the subscription, you'll be charged at the beginning of each month and the page-views will be applied then as well.

Sorry so long, Ricky, here's a shorter version:
If the recurring plan is selected is ad-free applied to each coming month automatically?

Thanks, Brian! I still have ad-free left for October, so when should I purchase the recurring plan so it will start in November?
