Is there a guide somewhere on how to create a home page? I have been trying to figure it out but cant find anything or seem to get the software to do what I want. I don't want a forum format, just a place where staff can put up events, info, links and such.

You could make a Custom Page and then set that as the homepage, if you'd like, or you could drastically alter the Home layout template to suit your preferences. If you wanna do the layout template route, if you post in that board and tag me I can help you with any changes. Custom Pages I'm not as familiar with unfortunately

This could be done with the use of a Super Forum Key.

There are 2 drawbacks though, you are only allowed one Super Forum Key per forum, unless you are prepared to pay for more, and the 10 recent threads list would not be fully populated until 10 posts have been made AFTER the plugin is installed and activated.

The announcements section could simply be an option you can change within the plugin settings.

I'd be interested in this as well. Maybe an option to have more than 10 listed and a choice of global or main?

I'll try to help. This took me a long time to get the hang of too.

Go to your admin and click on custom pages, then click on create new custom page, you will get a pop up, I usually use the same word in both but capitalize the one in the Title area. Click create. Then select the template you want. Then scroll down to the bottom and click submit.

Wait for the page to fully load. Then click on the HTML tab. You will see zone 1 in brackets. Insert your html after the zone in brackets and prior to the /div tag.

Then save. Above the code box you will see

Edit the HTML for the custom page: name of your page. Name of your page will be a link, you can click that to get a preview of your page.

Let me get this straight. This would list recently-created threads? In a manner similar to the pages for recently-created posts and recently-posted-in threads? If so, this has all of my yes. All of it.

And to respond to the person above me, it was intended for the most recent posted in threads. A little column that would constantly fall or when you refresh the page, at least.

This will list the threads that have recently been posted in.. That will include any threads that have been created too.
