I've been through the the other pages, changed coding when I saw issues similar to mine, and the NPCs are still showing up as the original poster on the thread list and info center. They appear perfectly within the thread. It also doesn't appear that the mini-profile/mini_profile thing is an issue either. Can you please help? The board in question is xxdarknessfallsxx.proboards.com/Ooh, you've done your research! Nice! I had a look at your layout templates and it looks like you're using the old version of the template modifications that were used to make the thread list and Forum Information & Statistics work. When I updated the plugin to the current version I changed how these work, so you'll unfortunately need to go through your templates again and add them wherever is necessary. This change was specific to my massive update to the plugin, so you don't have to worry about this happening again for any future updates the plugin may receive. This post has been updated to reflect the current method for modifying the templates to include the proper NPC information: support.proboards.com/post/5732964/threadSince your layout templates contain the previous versions of these modifications you'll be looking for lines that look sort of like this: The bits in red are the old version of the tags required for the plugin to add this information. They usually contain " npc-user p-" somewhere in their class attribute. You'll be replacing these with the updated tags. If you follow the instructions in the post linked above you'll more than likely come across them anyways when looking for the variables. But once that's all said and done they should show properly.

Hi Brian, sorry to bother with a probably complex request / question. Is it possible to have a completely different post/mp layout for npcs? Right now my posts and mp structure are heavily customised and I was hoping that NPCs could have a different post / mp structure to sort of emphasise that they are not regular user accounts. Basically my posts look like this:
mini profile here
post controls here
This is the first post
mini profile here
post controls here
This is the second post
Would it be possible to style NPC posts to look like this: mini profile here
post controls here
This is the first post
[npc avatar] — [npc name]:
post content here post controls here
mini profile here
post controls here
This is the second post

Kami: Any post that gets changed to an NPC post is given the class has-npc so it's possible to customize its CSS based on that, but apart from that the plugin only modifies the HTML of the element containing the class mini-profile so it wouldn't affect any underlying HTML outside of that.

Kami : I updated the plugin to make what you asked about a bit more possible. The placeholders in this post should now work in Themes > Layout Templates > Thread > Post List so you can replace avatars and display names outside of the mini-profile. All you need to do is use the post ID variable as their data-value attribute and the plugin will do the rest. Avatar: Display Name:

Brian - I am still having trouble with my browser scrolling down to posts here on support, is it possible to directly link me to the post instead of the post in thread?

Thank you! I'll have a play around with it and see if I can do what I'm intending (: If not though no worries! I have a plan B.

Interesting... Modifying the mini-profile doesn't seem to work for custom skins. One of them being adoxographyv2.boards.net/thread/4663/dear?page=1&scrollTo=26686 (Dear no End's skin). Also, when you click on the username, it goes directly to the moderator who posted as the NPC. I figured you'd have the NPC's personal profile applied in this plugin. Modifying the profile HTML doesn't seem to change things. Is there a way to solve this?

Modifying the profile HTML doesn't seem to change things. Is there a way to solve this? Looks like it works to me. I selected an NPC in a post on your forum and it successfully replaced the mini-profile with the HTML you have specified in the Profile HTML tab of the plugin. Clicking on the username should work provided that you've correctly specified a username for your NPC. The display name can be whatever you want, but the username cannot have spaces in it.

This is a plugin and not a layout template, so if statements and foreach loops do not work. There is no way of duplicating that functionality within the plugin as it can't access all of the variables necessary to do so since they're exclusive to your layout templates. $[user] and all of the subvariables listed in this thread work because the Javascript is explicitly looking for that text and replacing it.

I'm not getting the npc option at all. It's not popping up when I try to make a thread nor at the bottom of the page. I edited the information, deleted the plugin and tried reinstalling it. Nothing seemed to work.

Make sure you are on a computer or in desktop mode as it wont work on mobile. Nothing will 'pop' up, but you should see a little sword icon. Also check the permissions you have set as those without permission will not see it. Another thing that has tripped me up with plugins, check to see if it is active on your current theme especially if you have multiples as if it is not active on your theme you wont see it.

clemie, failing the advice in the previous post a link to the forum would help me easily diagnose the problem.
