MPBG&TC (miniprofile background & text color) [lib support]

Excuse me, how do I do the mini-profile background? I would like it to be black but I don't know how, the other two work fine,

Lately, there have been incidents where this plugin has malfunctioned. The strange thing is that it affects only certain profiles and certain threads.

Any suggestions to what is wrong and how to fix it?

hello... I hope this is not too late to put my word or two in. I put in the code/plugin and I don't see anything that remotely that says or sees anything Mini background Profile.
I do not have any mini profiles plugins on my forum, just this one... however.. I do have this one... I don't know if that is affected by working or not??? I even unchecked the update status in my mini profile , still didn't work...

Update: I unchecked all of my plugins and left the mini background profile checked... that did do anything. its not showing up :/

The plugin stopped functioning in our theme called Heretix when we changed to another default theme. Strangely, it works in all other themes, though. I tried to make Heretix default again, but to no avail.

Help needed, please!

Just a follow up that the following member had also sought assistance on the Support Board (support.proboards.com/thread/677626/mini-profile-background-missing-theme) and the issue was solved.   The mini-profile template for that theme was missing code needed for the plugin to work.

peekabooicu - Super. Once you get the Custom Profile Fields setup and data entered let me know if the plugin is still an issue. Or did you need assistance in getting it set up?

thank you for the link. I looked at it and it is not giving me what I need to fill out this form...
Am I supposed to see this once I install the plugin or do I have to put it in the layout template? this is what I have so far.... what am I missing?

EDIT: I think I found it... the directions was not quite clear. lol... my bad. I had to look my eyes off to find it.

peekabooicu - yeah sorry in looking it over I guess the instructions aren't that clear.

On your forum go to Admin > Members > Custom Profile Fields. You'll want to make 3 new entries that look like this:




While I'm not sure if the order matters, but I would add them in the order shown.

The Field Name, Type and Location must be exactly as shown.  The Options for each entry default to "Anything" as the accepted value.  That's fine for the MP Background entry, but the MP Name Color and MP Text Color should be set to "Alpha-numeric Only".  Click on the View/Edit link under Options to set the accepted value option.

Once this is done it adds these 3 fields to the member's Personal tab of their Profile.


To add the customization, visit your Profile > Edit Profile > Personal tab.  Scroll to the bottom of that sections window and you'll see the fields:



When you click into the Background field a popup box will appear where you can enter in the URL to for a background image or add a color.  Clicking the color field opens the color picker to select the desired color.  This same thing happens when click the fields for Name Color and Text Color.

On the right side is a preview that reflects the background/colors that you chose.

When done, remember to click the button for "Save Personal Settings".

Congrats!! - Glad you were able to get it figured out while I was writing up the instructions.
