Forum URL: (private)
I cant work it out, im in all the lists with my google+ posts but my sites nowhere to be seen.
My friends just bought a gig off fivver .com to boost his ranking and he's on page 1 for his keywords stuff, luckily im partners with him and have a page for my site on his, so im on page 1 or 2 BUT for his keywords.
Im stuck to working this out, and i dont want to pay, so if i dont work it out from any advice here then i'll be leaving it, which will be a shame.
thank you.
edit: if i choose to pay, is it or can it be damaging like putting a million backlinks on my sites etc etc ?

What you need is time and patience. The way to get on google is to have a site link for bots to crawl -- for example, having a link to your site in your signature here on support will encourage indexing bots to go to your forum since Support gets a lot of traffic.
Posting in the advertisement board, or having your forum URL not private when you post here and ask for help, going to other sites and advertising in their advertisement area (following their rules of course), stuff like that.
The more places you have your site URL available, the more chances an indexing bot will come by and have a look.

thank you, i understand all this, its the keyword search in google that im talking about though sorry. It's the same principle. The more frequently a keyword that you want your forum to be searchable by appears on your forum, the more chances that indexing bots will pick up on it, so the bots have to be able to find your forum. There are literally millions of websites with millions of words: in order to make yours relevant you have to not just post relevant content, you have to make it accessible both to humans and indexing bots.
You can theoretically use meta keyword tags but a) they're pretty useless, and b) having an overabundance of them may cause your forum to be marked as a spam website.

It took my website maybe a good two or three years to be searchable through google via the correct keywords and that was with having a URL that contained my keywords.
It's not going to happen overnight, so it's irrelevant how many links and keywords you have right now because it takes time to process and catalogue these things. There are literally millions of websites and I guarantee you are not the only website for your subject, and I can also guarantee that many of those other websites have been around much, much longer than yours has.
For example, if you google 'avatar roleplay' my website is #2 in ranking. That is after ten years of pretty constant advertising and posting. You're not going to get this after just a few months.
Unless you are willing to pay -- and even then, many search engines are changing the parameters of what paying for better rankings will get you -- then you just have to be patient.

Very aggressive marketing. You will get absolutely nowhere if you do not market your website aggressively. And by this I mean actually investing money in advertisement, not just SEO.
And to be very honest with you, companies spend millions of dollars or more to get top search rankings, so unless you've got the money to back it up you're going to find yourself spending way more money than will get you the results you appear to be looking for.
Quite frankly, you want instant gratification and that's just not going to happen in this particular field.

even when i google a thread title that i know has been google botted, i still cant find it I can only reiterate "time and patience" so many times, man. It doesn't matter if a bot has looked at it once, twice, or a couple of times. You are competing with websites that get thousands of impressions per day, so again: either shell out the cash, or take a deep breath and realise that you're going to have to be patient.

iv just found a thread in the list :) patience i suppose idk. i get more than a 1000 impressions a day. That is really not a lot, relatively speaking. But I think I've pretty much iterated, reiterated, and re-reiterated the main points of this subject, so best of luck.
