Hi. Is there a setting somewhere that changes where users end up after switching accounts on the same forum? When I change accounts I'd still like to be looking at the same thread, not be redirected to the home screen.
Thank you, CC

Hey ccthefrog. I feel ya, but I'm afraid there currently isn't a setting for that. That would need to be something that we have to implement in our software.

Is this a change that has happened? I could've sworn that this never was the case before.

Ulises II'm surprised that it's being said here by PB staff that the account switcher never kept you on the same page because I use it extensively when changing to a character account on the same page and was never redirected to home - as did many of my members, who have reported it redirecting to home recently. Has something been changed PB end? The account switcher was very convenient for those of us who use them for character accounts, but such a change is a definite negative when other forum providers are considered that have such functionality as a standard - without redirecting to the forum's home page.

Kalimalian I'll have to double check with the devs to be absolutely sure. I've tagged this for them to look at Monday.

Just wanted to see if a dev has had a chance to check this one?

Ulises isn't here today, but I've added this to our internal list of requests that get immediately forwarded to the dev team for response.

I would like to second this request. Everyone at our forum dislikes this new feature, because we also use it as character-accounts. Loved the old way though <3

Thanks, Brian, it's appreciated. Like S-Freak, my members who used the feature have all been quite annoyed by its sudden disappearance - myself included, as it makes things a lot more irritating now.

There has been recurring amnesia episodes regarding this feature, I think this is the fourth time I've seen a push render the feature less than ideal for some who use it. The current V5 source code still has references to things such as applied_effects.postingAs and a "_post_as_input" form field which was never hooked up into the UI and I believe at the time was due to a decision to use the switch account feature instead because it was much more secure, this however required the switch account to land the newly logged in user back on the page the old account had started (provided newly logged in account had permission to be in that area). This decision however has apparently not been logged anywhere in order to preserve this behavior and keeps getting periodically "forgotten" until someone complains to have it restored.

What new feature are you referring to, exactly? The Switch Account option returning you to the page you were just on dates back to at least 2014.
