i know buddy, that's what i'm saying i'v had no problem with it for some weird reason, maybe imgur was just a threat. Be safe and also get another image hosting site, just so you have some backup. I know what everyone is going through, it's going to take me the whole summer to get everything uploaded onto the new hosting site I'm on and then transfer stuff onto my forums. UGH!

And to purchase more theme space click on INCREASE STORAGE and an additional 100 MB is only $10.00 us funds, which is a bargain IMHO. That will not increase the 1MB / 500 images at all. There's smaller amounts, 100 MB is the largest.

Right now it's on tinypic

I have always had well about 135 smileys in Todge's Smiley Dropdown Plugin and I've never run into any problems.

I think it's because so many users have relied on it for so long & now it's gone it's left a trail of devastation behind. For sure PB would love to sell storage options, but they don't ever force that as they respect everybody's choice depending on their needs. That's a cool approach too. There's rarely one solution to everybody's requirements right? Besides that, I think PB's core competency is board hosting & development & they do that incredibly well. Why dabble in a "nicety" when you already know your true strength?

Im sure this was a typo but Photoshop has nothing to do with this topic, for anyone reading this thread and getting confused But I don't think ProBoards cares one way or another what method we use to host our images; they provide us with theme image space for convenience and ease of use, but there's no rule that says we can't host our images elsewhere (and for non-theme images, we do). What it boils down to is habit I think; in v4, all we had was a very simple colour editor + the headers & footers. No theme upload, and just one set of H/F for all of your skins (as they were called then). Folks who got in during v4, 4.5 (2005-2011 or so...?) by and large habitually host their images elsewhere. I don't exclude myself from that either, it's just I had/have my own hosting for quite some time now, and back in the day my forum had too much traffic for me to use Photobucket (in the mid 2000s they had a bandwidth cap monthly). I've since made the switch to uploading my theme images to PB, which honestly as a theme designer is really convenient especially since each custom image generates a variable you can use in your templates And also like I said before, the logistics of this is enormous. They'll need more servers, more employees, more time, more development and QA. At the bare minimum they'll need to hire people with experience managing an image host. It may be a simple idea for you, pay and receive, but development of such a project can take months or years and a lot of time and resources and money. It's up to hem, of course, whether or not to pursue it, but splitting their resources and staff between their established market and a new venture is not just a matter of reassurance. The payoff has to be enough, and it seems from admin response (tho obv I'm not staff so this is just a guess) that they'd rather stick to being a (great!) forum host.

i know buddy, that's what i'm saying i'v had no problem with it for some weird reason, maybe imgur was just a threat. Definitely, not a just a threat ~
Did you read their ToS? It's the same as P'Bucket.
imgur.com/tos
There was a thread here on support when Imgur changed their ToS more than a year ago.
support.proboards.com/thread/573055/use-imgur-image-hosting-read
Moving forward, I'm hosting all images for my themes, the forum, and plugins in the Custom Images in ProBoards' storage.
It's the far better alternative. I don't want to go through this ever again.

Good for you, Jaguar . P'Bucket may have knocked us down . . . but they sure as heck won't keep us down.
I'm just so happy and grateful for ProBoards' storage for ProBoards' images.
