Let's keep this as civillized as possible, with election around the corner and according to polls Biden is up 9pts. As I'm not a huge political guy it's still fun to read comments and thoughts.

I can’t believe we’ve got to this close to the election without a thread about it. I almost made a thread the other day about how weird that was, compared to previous election years.

If I could vote, it would be for the Democrats, but I’m not keen on how it all seems to be about two people rather than multiple parties in the US. I hope you guys get a good result and a president who takes Covid more seriously.

Kind of surprised the polls already even to be honest.

My entire family has voted for Biden, including my ultra conservative, never-voted-Democrat-in-her-life, grandmother. This has probably been the easiest vote I've ever cast. I went for Biden. I find myself checking 538 every day, along with the early vote stats. It has been impressive to see how many people have voted already (76.5 million as of now). Whatever the polls say, this is also easily the most anxiety inducing election I think I've ever watched. I think on the day of I'll probably just tune out. (I say that now, but we'll see what actually happens.)

For the first time ever, I registered as democrat and cast my first vote confidently in Biden. I am not happy with the choices, but I am hopeful for the future.

After the 2016 election I registered to vote for for first time in my life and was happy to cast my vote for Biden/Harris two weeks ago.

We (my husband and I) are nearing retirement age-we are voting for the one we know and staying away from the one who will drain us dry. We are going with the one we know and not the unknown.

I want Trump to win as he has oked the KeyStone pipe line which means work for Canadian and American pipeline workers. Sleepy Joe has said elect me and I'll cancel it like the good green liberal he is.

Well, *someone* has to care about the environment, and that's sure not going to be trump! And what about the effect on / theft of Indigenous tribal lands? Does that not matter, either?

I just fear that regardless of who wins, the public's reaction could be catastrophic.

I refuse to tell anyone who I am voting for since half the people I know will be upset with me. I get those who keep throwing bait at me trying to get my choice. Not worth the drama but, very annoying. Suffice it to say, whoever wins, come Thursday, at least 40% of Americans will be angry.

I didn't vote and received just as much "smack." My boss told me, "You have to vote Christina. It's part of being an adult." Mind you, I did register to vote, but have never actually voted in my entire life. A lot of people I know never even registered to vote and claim they don't know how.  I really don't think it matters. If you want to vote, then vote for whomever you support. If you don't want to vote because you don't support either candidate, then don't. This shouldn't break up friendships or relationships.
