What would *you * call them, then? A risk reducer, it's definitely not the cure by any means which is why we need to get more products on the market other then just a shot. Vaccinations have never been a *cure* to begin with. They're proactive, not reactive.

They're proactive, not reactive. Okay? I don't understand why everyone's acting as if I'm against it or speaking for myself. If we have more variants and more ways to acquire it the less people will fear the virus. I don't get why we wouldn't want that.

But the fact is, right now the shot IS the only vaccine option. Those waiting around for something else are endangering themselves and others and it's irresponsible. If they're at least wearing masks, that helps, but still. I get that some are needle phobic, but there are things I mentioned earlier that could be tried instead of just waiting around indefinitely for another option. As for treatments, I'm sure there are more things coming eventually. But, it's a virus, which usually have to just run their course. You can prescribe things to alleviate/decrease symptoms but you can't really *cure* viruses.

And now that we have that formula it needs to be put into other devices, theirs so many that think they'll be invincible because they had the shot which isn't how it works. I've mentioned stores have a no mask policy for those with the vaccine but stores aren't even checking people for their cards and allows anyone to run around without it and we all know not everyone is going to be honest about it. Sure it's great we have the shot but the point I'm making is that it shouldn't be end all. I just have low doubts a virus like this will run it's course until we have more options

I feel like you're defending a point no one is attacking. More options for getting people immune would be great. No one who's pro-vax in here would say "No, I only ever want to be stabbed against viruses for the rest of my life, nothing else."
The point I think people are making is: a) other options don't exist yet and we don't know if or when they will, b) holding out for other options is not a good excuse against getting the vaccine, and c) the longer we wait for enough of the population to become immune, the more people die and the more dangerous the virus gets.
If you understand how the virus works, surely you understand how important it is to get as many people immunized against it in a timely manner. Call it being "hellbent" on it if you want, but as "amusing" as that might be, it's proven to work, and nothing else comes close.
tl;dr: More options would be great, but the more people wait, the more people die.

I don't think I ever said it wasn't important? I really don't understand the attacks lol, fight me for caring that their should be options for other people in the world where they might be able to even grab the vaccine in a patch form and acquire it that way. Possibilities are endless with this.

Possibilities are endless with this. This is what I'm saying lmao. There are no attacks. No one is fighting you on that specific point. No one is pro-needle and pro-muscle pain and raging at the idea that other options might be available. The reason I responded in the first place is because you mentioned your friend who doesn't like needles and brought up alternatives like pills and things in that context, so it sounded like you were saying that people who don't want the vaccine because they're afraid of needles could hold out for other options. If not, great! My only point is, and has ever been that people probably shouldn't put their hopes on alternatives to the extent that they avoid what's available now. If you agree, then that's awesome.

If you agree, then that's awesome. I don't think I ever said my friend didn't like needles so I either misworded it or it was misread. My friend was super into protocol got both shots and still acquired covid. It's not just people that are afraid of needles but also ones in 3rd world countries that might not even have access to doctors. Pfizer is a $265b industry I really do think if people pushed them enough their would be more options other then well we got the shot we're going to get over this now. Still as I said big name companies such as Walmart are doing a poor job of endorsing masks and not even checking people for cards at least the one in my area. Not a good example. We're still in baby steps half the world is vaccinated according to data charts

I will say this conversation got me reading up on alternatives, and it seems like there are some even now, it's just that they either aren't as effective or are more painful or more expensive or lack the distribution networks. Some of them look neat, like a topical powder or something. It does seem like there's definitely interest and testing, so fingers crossed.

Most definitely to me a patch that enters the bodies blood stream much like nicotine patches would be the smartest way to go about it, but hell smokers say even those hardly work for them.

Just got my first dose of the Pfizer vax. So far, I'm feeling OK, but that could change.

This is a great example of why anyone who *can* get vaccinated, should. This poor guy died needlessly because he couldn't be admitted to a hospital because they were full of covid patients who were against vaccination. Sadly, this is exactly the type of thing I had in mind when I said anti-vaxxers were selfish and irresponsible. Let me also reiterate that I am not aiming this at anyone specific on this forum. www.cbsnews.com/news/ray-demonia-alabama-death-cardiac-event-icu-full/

lol, this isn't a government entity. They set the rules just like you do when guests come into your house. Don't like it = there is the door. Or, in this case there's the little X at the top of the page you can click to leave.
