Forum URL: varietygalore.boards.net/I never disabled their accounts. I only disable accounts of those who post advertisements. So if people are joining and getting disabled, I am not the one doing it.

Hey Radrook.
Does anything show in your security log which could explain it?

Disabled or banned completely? Were they also deleted? All I can say is that I don't disable members unless they post advertisements. So if they are disabled, it was not me. If indeed something else disabled them, that is beyond my control and will remain beyond my control; whether I find out what did it or not.

Please notice that the sum of members and the 27 deleted ones do not match. In short, they are being counted as present members although they have been banned.

So if people are joining and getting disabled, I am not the one doing it. Please keep in mind that if a global account is a member of your forum as well as here on support: If that member had their account disabled globally by PB (typically spammers and such), then that global disabled would affect those with the same global account on your forum. If they're globally banned by PB, they'll be banned on all PB forums that had a member with the banned global account.

Radrook - I just looked at your Members List and can confirm that the situation is exactly like your other thread that Dante referenced. In that thread it was explained like this: Hi, Users who spam forums on our service are run through a tool that automatically disables other accounts tied to their global account and then removes their posts. The account you're seeing is almost definitely one of the accounts tied to a spammer that was removed. So just to reaffirm, if a member account shows their display name as "account_disabled" this means they were identified as a spammer by ProBoards and their account was disabled. If any posts were made by the user they would have been deleted, however the account would be left and marked with the name account_disabled so you (the admin) would be aware there was an issue with the member's account. You are free to delete these accounts.

Just noticed some deleteds trying to get back in. Still, the large number of new members requesting registration approval seems suspicious.

Just noticed some deleteds trying to get back in. Still, the large number of new members requesting registration approval seems suspicious. Gently, I don't really understand why there is a lot of suspicion about guest activity. Over the course of the last few threads, there seems to be a recurring theme of feeling like anyone who interacts with the site has some sort of wider conspiratorial agenda against your forum specifically. There have been replies from myself, other PB volunteers, and even PB staff explaining that this is a pretty normal situation when it comes to running online communities. Similarly, you've posted a notice explaining that the forum isn't for advertisements and are trying to engage with accounts who register for the purpose of spam. You've been told several times that these accounts may or may not be real people, and either way will not respond to your messages or obey your rules. At this point, updating PB about continued spam activity doesn't really have any sort of benefit; the automated system which you encounter in this thread that disables accounts that have been detected as spammers is the only real special thing that PB can do against people who aren't engaging genuinely, but other than that they have the exact same tools as you do in your admin panel when it comes to dealing with individual occurrence. I think the question from a 'PB helper' perspective is: what sort of assistance are you looking for when you create threads about spammers coming to your forum? We can only tell you that spammers aren't worth attempting to communicate with + to use the admin tools at your disposal so many times before we sound like a broken record. We're happy to help, of course, but there doesn't seem to be a question anymore. If you do still need help, could you tell us what we can help with?

Sorry for the inconvenience. Not my intention to confuse or to annoy. My apologies. There is really no inconvenience here, and no one is annoyed. We (volunteers and PB staff alike) are here and super happy to help, but the confusion stems from not being sure what we can help you with since you haven't actually stated what the issue is beyond spammers existing and trying to spam. What specifically is the concern regarding these guest / spammer interactions? Everyone, myself included, is open to answering any questions, alleviating concerns, and/or providing technical support; we just need to know what the actual issue is.
