I could be wrong, but i dont believe it sends out email notification. I have never used or had anything to do with the feature to know better. 1 of the members will probably have a better idea Thanks Marytn. Thing is I saw a few new sign ups and expected to get either email or PM but after waiting 24 hours, nothing. I even registered myself to see what the process is and it seems staff are meant to know someone has registered by watching. Looks like a gap in the market for some coder ( coder alert) out there.

The suggestion is to use @yahoo or gmail etc accounts that aren't being blocked. It's a pity Proboards doesn't offer email acounts. ;-)

Its not a "bug" those providers are blocking us as spam. All our emails are sending perfectly

It appears that you can add alltel to the possible blocker list.

Okay, so I admit that I am on a time crunch and didn't read all of the posts. But I have a hotmail account and I've gotten all of my activation codes for forums I am a part of. However, I have a new member trying to join my forum and she uses yahoo and hasn't gotten her activation number yet. And she registered yesterday. I told her to check her junk mail. But since she has yahoo and you've all said yahoo sends the messages, I am a bit puzzled. But like I said, I have hotmail and I got my code, so not everyone will have problems activating their account.
****UPDATE****
She checked her junk mail and still nothing. Any ideas? I'm still trying to find out myslef, but if someone here knows, that would be great!

Yahoo doesnt block our emails, but yahoo are tempermental at recieving emails from any sender. My parents use it and quite often have had email never arrive. Its just a general problem If they press the resend link, they could find the replacement mail appears stright away

hmm, i have had several members receive their activation keys with hotmail, including my own, however after a while several members are unable to receive their activation codes. I found then that using my gmail account worked, and then had the problem mentioned above that when changing the email address it required a new activation code...

so basicly hotmail is totally out of the question at this point with the newer servers, so we'd need to use something like gmail or yahoo?

well i dont think hotmail is necessarily the problem cos there are cases where hotmail does work... i suppose this is something the staff with have to confirm for us, the problem is many of the members on our boards do not have gmail and may not want to make a new email account just for this specific purpose.
some say adding the support email address to their contacts of safety list solves the problem, will this work in every or most cases?

Adding the Proboards email to the safe list does not work for the newer servers. I can receive mail from the older servers, such as 21, 27, and 42, but for 91, 98, and 103 I can't get anything.
I think it is the server IP, not the email being blocked.
