It's not a problem at all, ?anna?. Feel free to let us know if you need any assistance at all and we'll be more than happy to help Just to clarify though, are you able to stay logged in now? Or are you still experiencing troubles? I'm logged in at Gibby's Place, but notice that Gibby's website address above is blinking a bit and the site is a bit wobbly. That seems to be a symptom of the problem and a warning that it's still there. My pc shut down once after I repeatedly tried to access my messages, notifications and messages and I couldn't start it up again. Now after a spell at the internet cafe my PC is working again. Repeatedly trying to get in to a certain section seems to escalates the problem and I don't want my pc to blow a fuse or something.
I reside in Germany and Gibby in the UK. So far our US and Australian members as far as I know aren't complaining.

I think I found the issue, was due to this horoscope code that was found in the global footer:
<!-- Begin horoscope --> <br><center> <table align="center" class="pic"> <tr><td class="hbg">
<iframe width="118%" scrolling="auto" height="190" frameborder="0" src="http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/horoscope/mini?colorscheme=1&wide=true&desktop=" allowtransparency="true" id="horoscope">&lt;a <center>href="http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/horoscope/"&gt;Daily Horoscopes&lt;/a&gt;</center></iframe></script>
</center></tr></td> </table></div> <!-- End horoscope -->
I have removed it from the global footer now. Can you try to login and see if it sticks? Oh these nasty bugs. We had an ex Admin here who knew 4 times as much about forum stuff that me + Gib know together, but she disappeared on us. We removed a hotlink music installation that she put in after being informed it violated pb rules. We love our forum, but aren't that techy.
Thanks for being tolerant of our ignorance here.

Thanks ?anna?. I went ahead and created an account on the forum and signed in, and was able to see the problem you're experiencing. It appears at a glance to be caused by a code of some kind, so I'm looking into that for you now. Thanks a zillion! I'm going to join your fan club Ricky!
Gibby doesn't keep late hours like I do and Global Mods can't approve accounts as far as I know, but at the latest she'll get you in tomorrow morning UK time. Of course I'm assuming she won't get kicked off her site.

I've been getting tossed back to the homepage, but not logged out if I try to read my messages, post anything, read notifications, etc. . I have this problem at an internet cafe computer too so it's not just my home pc.
The other pb forums where I'm a member don't seem to have this problem.
Thanks for trying to help us Ricky. Would it be okay if you created a new thread for this, and provide the URL of the forum in question so I can take a look? It sounds like the issue you're experiencing is slightly different than Gibby's, so a new thread would be best to move forward with this just to avoid confusion between the two issues The site in question is here: gibbysplace.freeforums.net/forum I'm Gibby's moderator there. I use Windows 7 and the internet cafe has one of the Window browsers too. I'm not sure if guests, who don't log in will experience difficulties or not.
Do you want the 2nd thread at Gibby's Place or here somewhere?
My speculation about malware of course is just speculation. My anti virus AVG doesn't detect anything there as far as I'm aware of.
There was speculation that Gibby's mobile caused problems and I'm quite a graphics queen and I hope I didn't post any bug infested images from photobucket.
Thanks again for your time and help!

I'm at an internet cafe and have been having problems like Gibby too too getting logged out. The malware site with the address edited ( !!Don't click!! ) seems to pop up along with the problems. This is one of the sites that will try to take you somewhere where you're supposed to buy some garbage and not leave you on the site where you wish to be.

Forum URL: gibbysplace.freeforums.netMyself and other members of my board are having major problems with staying logged on to the board. I sign in then go to a page and it throws me straight back out , same problem for others to , cannot stay logged on. Please help. Thanks. Log in problems seem to be a direct result of the "upgrade". I sometimes visit internet cafes and everytime I try to log in to a proboard forum I get the same old roundabout with the upgrade and then I have to log in with my e-mail address losing time that I didn't loose with the more stabile, bug free earlier system. Sometimes because of this I stay logged in at the internet cafes if I plan to return in the near future, but there's always a risk then that a stranger could do whatever he wants with my accoint in the internet cafe. I really wish I could always just log in with my username and password. Proboards has lost plenty of active members because of the psuedo-upgrade log in complications.

And the tradition of the "Freak Show Circus" continues. tv.yahoo.com/blogs/tv-news/-10-million-dollar-bigfoot-bounty--judges-skeptical-of-hunter-s-new-claims-004013134.html QUOTE: 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty' Judges Skeptical of Hunter's New ClaimsJan. 8, 2014 One of the judges from Spike's new "10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty" calls Rick Dyer's assertion that he shot and killed a Sasquatch last year "completely worthless." "Dude, I'm not going to take your word [for] it or your crappy picture. Show us real data," says Todd Disotell, a professor of anthropology at New York University who also runs NYU's Molecular Anthropology Laboratory. Of course, Dyer's case is probably hurt by the fact that he was responsible for a Bigfoot hoax back in 2008, not to mention that he was a used car salesman before that and plans to go on tour with the now-stuffed body (which he says he shot in Washington, not San Antonio, as originally reported). "The second profit pops into science, science goes squiggly," concluded Disotell. "It's strange that he chose to have it taxidermied rather than have better-preserved live samples sent for testing," said Natalia Reagan, a primatologist who co-judges "Bounty" with Disotell and actor Dean Cain. Disotell and Reagan bring years of lab and field research experience to the hunt for Bigfoot in the new series. Disotell established the terms for what would be considered definitive proof of Bigfoot so that Lloyd's of London would insure the $10 million stakes of the show. The contestants are an assortment of Bigfoot hunters, or "Squatchers," along with survivalists, paranormal researchers, and ordinary hunters and trackers. Their different methods lead to conflict and sometimes even cooperation through various challenges designed for this particular kind of search. The scientists likened visiting with the contestants to "a primatological study," according to Reagan, "where you see the coalitions form and the infighting and who's going to band together next week." But living with them also gave her a respect for their passion, and even though some of their theories were far-fetched, she was open to them. "[Science] is not static. It changes and adapts. It evolves. And so to hear their theories, maybe my take on things will change and evolve." The scientific rigor is what sets this show apart from most of the other Bigfoot shows that have been on TV. Part of Reagan's job was "to teach [the hunters] the correct collection protocol," so if something were found, it could be considered incontrovertible proof of Bigfoot's existence. She said Disotell "didn't test any sample that wasn't collected properly." Real scientific methods were surprisingly compatible with the reality-show format. "It's exactly the same laboratory techniques and even field techniques that we use in my anthropological research. There's no difference. We collect scat, hair; we dart, trap. We do whatever to get a biological sample from primates in the wild and then try to figure out who they're related to. Are they something new?" Disotell says, "That's sort of the hunt for Bigfoot." Conservation biology — the field that led Reagan to the disappearing forests of Panama to study spider monkeys — is ideal for the search because it studies endangered species that are also elusive. By using environmental DNA — "saliva when they take a bite off a tree," Reagan explains, or blood from a mosquito or a leech — and camera traps, which she calls "the TMZ of the natural world," the search for mythical creatures gains more real-world credibility. [Video: Bigfoot's 'Screech' Caught on Tape?] Disotell and Reagan are both familiar with using the media to further science education. Disotell has appeared on "Monster Quest" and "The Daily Show;" Reagan hosts a show called "Science! It's Your Friend" on YouTube. They're hoping that by being involved with a show meant as entertainment, they can impart some real information about science. "If you can trick people into learning something," says Disotell about a lesson he learned as a teacher, "they learn it much better than if you force-feed it to them."

Various versions of this have been tried in the past and proven too difficult and spam-covered to moderate. The strict rules of the AYF board are because of past issues. However, I will label this as a feature request and bring this up with the powers that be in our next staff meeting. Thanks Michael, Your initiative is greatly appreciated!

Forum URL: gibbysplace.freeforums.net/forumCould we create a subsection to the existing "advertise your forum" section where the following posts on 'our forum thread' could vary from "bump"? Members here could maybe ask questions or give feedback on the thread in such a subsection too? If there is a fear that such a subsection would be too "colorful" maybe it could be password protected. Just trying to liven things up here!
All this bump, bump, bump... can cause something like sea sickness.

Is it possible to modify a poll on v5 BetaZone? We had a poll hastily put up entitled, "Who has the best Avatar" www.tunesandspoons1.proboards.com/thread/4395/avatar-favorite . Unfortunately we neglected to add a couple deserving and notable members to this poll. Is it possible to add at least one member to the poll?
Thanks for your help! Hi In V5 you're able to remove the entire poll and add a new one, but, you won't be able to actually modify an existing poll. However, keep checking over on the v5 discussion board as changes and tweaks to v5 are ongoing. Thanks Sossity! A number of members have already voted on the existing poll. It'd be a mess to delete and recreate everything! I'll try to keep posted! Thanks again!

Hi ?anna?, Please see this post in the FAQ here by Brian. Forum restores are currently a paid feature. Thanks Michael! I managed to screen shot the entire thread that I deleted and reposted everything in another thread! I'll keep $20- handy if I stupidly delete a thread again. I'm not even sure if I as a Co-Admin can see the Security Log page.
So there's no time limit involved? For $20- via PayPal could we restore a thread that was deleted say 3 years ago, assuming we can find the deletion time and date in the Security Log?
Thanks for the help!

Depending on how many replies were made (like one or two), any chance that you could just make another thread? This was a personal thread from our Admin and I'd like the thread to be authored by her and from her!
