I made a Durmstrang RPG as i wanted to set my self the challenge.I had seen many hogwarts RPG's but i hadn't seen many Durmstrang rpgs. This might be because durmstrang hasn't been explained as much as Hogwarts.I think i also wanted to experience what it was like to be admin and not a member and i wanted to provide a different RPG. Another reason i wanted to be an admin was because i thought it was fun creating things like the boards and creating topics in the non rpg area and in the RP areas. I also like too see what the board is like once you have finsihed creating boards and skins.

Three of us were admins on a very successful PB poetry site. The main admin knew nothing about skins, coding or anything else and made no effort to find out. He would tell me to chew people out. I finally refused, because his demands were stupid. He started banning and deleting people for no good reason. I resigned and the site declined quickly after that. He deleted it over the Christmas Holidays. Many members had thousands of posts - 10,000+ for me, which is a lot for poetry.
The three of us saw this happening, so we put some thought into it. First we opened a yahoo email account and gave it the name we wanted our site to be. Then I clicked on 'make your own message board' while I had the other two in YIM. We gave the main admin the name of ADMIN. All three of us have the password. We are each an admin also under our own usernames. The Main admin account is only used to view the log and deal with member groups.
I take care of the skins, codes and member groups. Another takes care of contests and events and the other takes care of everything else. If one of us is on vacation, there are no worries as the site is well taken care of. In the staff room I have all the codes and skins posted with instructions if something goes wrong, when I am not around.
The three of us have known each other for several years and all have the same vision of what we want. Mainly, a nice friendly community who helps each other, with gentle critique if wanted. There is no spam and there was only one flame post by a new member who came there to defame another longtime friend. We banned that person faster than lightning.
I am a little off topic. But we wanted to be admins because we all had experience on that previous board and on a private board that had millions of posts. We also knew that we were not looking for numbers of members, but a small tight community. Major decisions are made by the three of us. The odd time we are not on the same page we just do our own little voting thing in the staff room and there is no argueing.

It wasn't the rank of 'Admin' I was serious about when cycling through boards similar to my own, it was age.
Most of the boards similar were made in 2002/2003, and the community wasn't too great. They of course, like all long lasting boards, had groups, and most new members were being shunned out, so it was more of a 'new board, better, more controlled community' I was after, rather than power.

I wanted to become one because I was really good at managing sites and was good at teaching people. So a friend and I created my site and then he left and I completely took over and have done well ever since. I'm really relax and nice and will only get strict when I have no other choice. People love my site and love me (that or sometimes hate me for the same reason).

I've been apart of many diffrent wrestling forums, all had their certains downfalls, I created a wrestling forum, not to make the biggest or the best wrestling forum, but just a fun place for people to share their opinions. I turned out as a better admin then I once thought I would be, I think I'm leading the forum on good. I still make a mistake on the forum as an admin and have no choice but to fess up and apologize for those mistakes. I have been admin for about 7 months and I am still learning.

I made my board because it was semi-unique. It's Hogwarts-like, but has a few unique things.. ..Everyone makes a "Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry".. ..but there have to be more magical schools than the ones mentioned in the HP books, right? ..well that was my thought anyway.. ..so I created Erdwynn Actually I'm still creating it I'm not such an expert on graphics, so mine don't look professional, but at least they're home-made and at least custom.. I'm constantly working to improve it Joy to the world! Hooray! ..ahem, sorry.

Well I always wanted to be an admin, because I wanted to be the one that others talk about and could come to, but I am starting to think that I am more of a member then an admin.
I am often tired of other boards rules and wanted to make a board with my own rules. Be free to do whatever I wanted. I now have two boards and one had 10 members and the other has 19. So I guess I am doing good.

I decided to create a forum and become an admin for a couple of reasons. First, I was getting tired of the way other computer support forums out there are run. The folks who have been members awhile or who have alot of experience in computers tend to act very snobbish and arrogant, and in my opinion that's not the way it should be. That's why I decided to start my own computer support forum. I wanted to offer a different kind of computer support forum. In my opinion, computer support forums are for helping people with their problems, not for bragging about yourself or acting like a big shot.
The other reason I wanted to start a computer support forum is because I know a good bit about computers myself and I wanted to do something to share my knowledge with other people.

I prefer to be an admin of my forum so that i can customize it to mine and my members liking. It gives me a way to express my coding and graphic abilities, along with staying committed to it, in my own way, at my own pace. Also, everyone on my staff team knows each other, so they all get along. At first the forum wasn't working out, but when we released the second version things started to pick up and we are now getting new members almost every other day I know that my forum will never top, or even come close to some of the other coding and graphics forums out there(SoCal, SSD, etc.), but that's ok. I actually prefer it, because when members come to my forum for help, since it's a smaller forum, the staff isn't so busy and rushed, and can actually take a decent amount of time on everything.

Well the reason I wanted to be admin was because my friends made forums so I made a forum which was a general board. Also the whole point of being admin is to expand proboards forum. But what prevents you making a forum is what is your forum going to be (e.g: Rpg, sci-fi, general or Advertising). That's the same for me.

Well when I first got into ProBoards, I was often times just a member of a lot of forums. But this one forum know as Avatarfans.net made me so angery that I wanted to start my own board so that I could have my rules. I was so happy when I discover that ProBoards offers free message board hosting. So I set up an account, my first board was known as Freaks About Entertainment. Now I was new, and I knew nothing so I kept changing the site to try and get new members, to a Star Wars site to finally Different Worlds, all four of my favorite shows and movies and games. It work, the board got more members, but at that time I was just going crazy with creating boards, I created a wrestling e-fed, a avatar rpg, and talk E talk and curse your head off. Don't ask me, I was stupid then. I figured what am I doing, so I deleted every single last one of my boards, even Different Worlds. Except for the Avatar RPG, which I have been working on and is now Katara's Watertribes. Until I finally did an experament with a site, and I decided that it was worth keeping. (Goth's School of the Arts) So why am I carrying on, well let's just jump to the case here. I really wanted to be an admin so that I could make my own rules. Have Fun, have a good hobby to do. Those forums are my life and sole. If you take that away from me, I will surely kill myself. I love my first born (Katara's Watertribes) and the newcomer to the block (School of the Arts). I may not be a good admin, but I will try my best to make sure that my babies are sucessful in their lifespan.

I'm a bit ashamed to mention this but I started my forum as a joke. A member of a site that I'm on that I (and many others) desperately dislike made their own site, immitating the forum that we were on (The same name, rules etc). So because he had the ability to make a site, something I had never considered doing myself before, I thought that it wouldn't be too hard. After I made the site though I really got into making my site look good and making skins. I love being an admin because it's fun, I love the subject of my forum and it's great when people actually enjoy your site.

Hmmmmm, lemme see, there is a single solitary reason I wanted to be an admin of my own forum. I wanted to be GOD! Seriously, I sit there with steepled fingers staring at my member list thinking to myself: "Mwa ha ha, with but the press of a few buttons, I can decide who will live and who will die! My power is absolute!" (come on, you know you all do the same)
Erm........on a more........not crazed note, I spent time jumping from random role-playing forum to role-playing forum and got tired at the point where is seemed the only thing that could tell them apart was the plethora of different spelling errors in the descriptions of boards. Those kind of sites where half the members have their own 5-minute thrown together role-playing site almost identical to the first..........The ones that you could tell the person had no real idea or thought behind their site other than knowing they wanted a site of their own to be admin of. They just irked me so!
So.....I wanted to break the cycle and come up with the novel idea of: *gasp* Putting codes on my forum to make it better! Meh, ultimately, I guess I only do this to have fun. ^_^

I've never been admin before my board was created, just a Moderator. I didn't do it for 'power' but simply to make a board on a subject that's widely known - music. As said before I love most of the things that come with it; fresh topics, skins, colour rewards etc but not all is good when you also have to deal with leechers & spammers. I sat back & looked at what other people did before I started & believe me when you're starting out it isn't easy. I like to set my board apart from everyone else, & have sometimes inspired other people to do the same!
