its more a matter of where you have the code stored that is giving you the trouble. proboards doesnt host the code.

;D HI I'm new to the site, and in need of help for a copy and paste issue. I'm relatively sure of the answer but need to ask anyway... I copied and pasted a document from Word to my Proboards page and every so often, the pages are covered in odd symbols where punctuation would otherwise be. Funny thing is, it disappears and reappears at random. Is there a way to get rid of the symbols so they don't return or is this a program compatibility issue that can only be solved if I re-post directly to my proboards page? Thanks! joanna

Thanks! joanna Chances are the issue is because you're using MS Word. MS Word likes to think it should have control over everything you put in it, so sometimes it'll change characters without telling you. Instead, when copying+pasting codes, you should use Notepad. (Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad.) That should resolve the issue for future codes. For the current ones, you might have to copy+paste again.

Hi Chris! Thank goodness. At least I know what the problem is. Thanks for the info. From now on, I'm just gonna write directly onto the page. I want to do some revising anyway. Maybe that'll help solve the problem . Fingers crossed! joanna

I can't host the file to my website (korra.proboards.com) I've downloaded the FileZilla, typed my username and password and typed my website but it can't connect.

is there a predicted date for the codes completion?? I was thinking this should be a little easier and quicker... have you even started fixing the bugs that have been identified or are you waiting for a larger list? This code seems ingenious but I don't want to use it until it's fixed. I hope it doesn't take much longer... I'd love to help but I have no experience with coding.

Hundreds (if not thousands) are using this code without issue. The main problem right now is that you need to host the code yourself and modify the appropriate files to get it to work for your forum and that can be frustrating for the novice.

My staff members and I noticed that the categories will no longer collapse when using this script. This is the only confliction that we have seen so far. Category Scripts (Which also relate to collapsing categories): - Collapse categories (Admin editable)
By Todge
- Replace/Remove Any Titles by SubDevo */
---- Mod to support Cat Image for 'Collapse categories (Admin editable) by Todge'*/
- Selective Category Splitter by Scorpian
We put the YourShop script at the very top of Global Footers, we swapped it around and put it under the Collapse Script, and we also tested it at the very bottom of the Global Footers and it does not change. You can open a collapsed category, but you cannot shut it again. Does this have to do with the shop having categories? If so, there probably should be some sort of way to fix it so that the shop's categories also collapse or use the category collapse function. Do I need to add them to the list of categories? It is really weird, some people are not having a problem with it if they have the Shop page open AND the main page open, they can collapse the categories. When they close the shop page they cant expand/collapse the categories on the main page any more until they open the shop again. (The shop categories do not expand/collapse though as normal.) Testing this now.
Alright, I went back to see if that part was messed up and this is what I see:
var shopCats = [ [1,"Skill Improvements"], [2,"Ability Improvements"], [3,"Technique Improvements"], [4,"Spell Improvements"], [5,"True Magic Upgrades"], [6,"Alchemy Improvements"], [7,"Rune Tokens"], [8,"Super Petco+"], [9,"Item Creation Upgrades"], [10,"Transportation Items"], [11,"Groceries"], [12,"Seal Items"], [13,"Event Only Items"] ]; var cMaxCats = 13; /*SHPCATENDHRE*/ //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://aoirojoukai.com/KoF/Images/YourShop/shop/0.3/main.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- /* Add Shop Items to Posts */ //if shop not installed this line should generate an error window.makeMoney.prototype={ excludeCat:["Balloons"], //list of shop categories whose items should be ignored shopcart:function (){ if(window.addOnItems){ var ui=window.userInfo if(ui && ui.pt != "NaN"){ if(/p~(.+?);;/.test(ui.pt)) setCookie('shp-cart', RegExp.$1, new Date(+new Date + 1e11)); }else if(/(view|profile|display)/.test(pb_action)){ ui=arguments[0]||1; if(ui && ui<addOnItems.length) setTimeout(function(){makeMoney.prototype.shopcart(ui++);},1000); } } }, addShopItems:function(){ var msg,shpRow,i if(window.add && typeof window.add == "function" && pb_username != 'Guest'){ msg = document.getElementsByName('message')[0].offsetParent.parentNode; shpRow = msg.previousSibling; while(shpRow){if(/add\(/.test(shpRow.innerHTML))break;shpRow=shpRow.previousSibling;} if(shpRow){ shpRow = msg.parentNode.insertBefore(shpRow.cloneNode(1),shpRow.nextSibling); shpRow.firstChild.firstChild.innerHTML = '<span ondblclick="if(confirm(\'show shop cookie?\'))add(makeMoney.prototype.cookie?makeMoney.prototype.cookie:\'no shop cookie\')">Add Shop Items:</span>'; shpRow.lastChild.lastChild.innerHTML = 'Unable to show shop items, try first visiting your <a href="/?action=viewprofile">profile</a> page<br>'; msg=document.cookie.match(/\b(shp-cart)=([^;]+)/) if(msg && msg[1]){ msg[1]="";this.cookie=unescape(RegExp.lastMatch); msg[2] = eval("({"+unescape(msg[2]).replace(/(\d+)(,|$)/g,function(p0,p1,p2){return p1+":this.addOnItems["+p1+"]"+p2;})+"})"); for(i in msg[2]){ if(!this.excludeCat.has[msg[2][i][6]]) msg[1] += '<a href="javascript:add(\'[img\]'+msg[2][i][2]+'[/img] \')"><img border="0" alt="'+msg[2][i][1]+'" title="'+msg[2][i][4]+'" src="'+msg[2][i][2]+'" /><\/a> '; else shpRow.lastChild.lastChild.innerHTML += ' <span title="reason:category '+msg[2][i][6] +' excluded">'+ msg[2][i][1] + '</span>'; } if(msg[1].length)shpRow.lastChild.lastChild.innerHTML = msg[1]; } } } }, chargeIt:function(){ var i,j this.shopcart(); this.addOnItems={};this.excludeCat.has={};j=','+this.excludeCat.join().toLowerCase()+',' for(i=0;i<shopCats.length;i++) if(j.indexOf(','+shopCats[i][1].toLowerCase()+',') != -1) this.excludeCat.has[shopCats[i][0]]=true; for(i=0;i<addOnItems.length;i++)this.addOnItems[addOnItems[i][0]]=addOnItems[i]; this.addShopItems(); } } makeMoney.prototype.chargeIt(); // --> </script>
I actually do not see what you posted.
It seems that once the main page has fully loaded (you can tell by when the favicon shows up) the categories no longer collapse after you expand them. They will do it up to the point before the page is fully loaded.

Sorry, I am somewhat confused with your reply (although I did see you deleted your post above.) (By saying "I did not see what you posted", was meaning that the part in red that you had pasted into the reply was not in my footer window when I was looking for what you had up there; as far as saying that part of the script was posted in between sections it should not have been. When I went into Global Footers to correct it, it was not there. What I posted in the code area was how it looks on my GF window - where the two scripts are separated where they should have been.) What was the screenshot about? Remove the red "</script>" that was still there? It seems that what you are seeing, and what I am seeing is different somehow... I am trying to figure out how your screenshot is displaying it the way that it is, while what is showing in my global footer is not the same at all.
