Experiencing Yourshop Bugs?

I'm modifying this thread with the permission of the thread creator in order to have a centralized place for Yourshop bug reporting, as a couple of our talented coders are going to attempt to rectify some issues it is having.

Please note: if you are having trouble with the Yourshop code:

Read through this thread. If your issue is not listed, please first make a thread of your own. This thread is for confirmed bugs only.

I have the YourShop code, and when I put it in, it glitched a bit, but worked. Very soon after, it stopped working all together. Here are what members reported seeing:

Me (regular admin)- At first, when the "shop" tab was clicked, it brought me to my profile, then said "redirecting to shop". It brought me to the modify profile page, then finished loading, and brought me to the shop. Soon after, the shop never loaded, and the modify profile page stayed. Shortly after that, When clicked on, the Modify profile page disappeared and there was nothing. The same thing happens when I click the Modify Items/Money page in a user's profile.

Head Admin- Same thing. It just never loaded.

Every other staff member who tried it has the same results. I love the code, and it would be horrible to get rid of it. Help me!

If you give me the url to your board i can look at if this is your problem but normaly when this happens there is nothing we can do. The yourshop code has alot of bugs in fact i stoped using it because it only worked with some of the members (and no one knows why) the other thing is that you can't edit most of the code because it is remotly hosted. So i and the other mods can look at it but i don't think we will be able to solve the problem.

Is there anuly way for someone to get it to work right? Lots of members have tried it and said it didn't work, I've read their posts, and if it were fixed, it would be awesome!

It certainly wouldn't hurt if you mentioned which browser you use. The shop is a pretty complex code which means there are a multitude of things that can potentially go wrong and knowing the browser being used can narrow those possibiliies.

One of the most common problems I've seen is failure to load the data saved in cookies in a timely fashion so the code knows for example how many posts a user has (thus how much base currency) as well as items purchased when on pages that do not have that info available.

If your browser supports a privacy mode (most modern ones now do) then open it in privacy mode and login to your forum then check if the problem still exists in privacy mode. If it doesn't then the problem has a high probability of being cookie related and you could go ahead and clear your cookies when back in non-privacy mode.

I'm not saying you are but exaggerating the number of people being affected would lead the investigation into a totally different direction since it's highly unlikely every member is having cookie timing problems.

Five people have tried it in three diferent browsers, and it doesn't work. I use my iPod with safari, Internet explorer on the computer, and firefox. It doesn't work. How do I clear cookies? And what are they?

Just a heads up but if you're having problems using the shop today (June 29, 2010) there appears to be a problem with AT&T (possibly other ISPs) customers getting to GODADDY sites (where pb.ccsr.us is hosted).

This isn't the first time this has occurred and in previous incidents U-verse customers were unaffected. Past experience show these outages last from a couple hours up to a day before being rectified.
Your forum will take forever to load if the cached scripts and images that make up the YourShop code are unvailable.

I didn't try it on June 29th, so I'm afraid I don't know. It was working for a while, then it stopped. I think it sporadically turns on and off.
