I know that Todge has put a lot of work into making a really nice option for adding extra smilies. I like it, but there are parts of it that I don't like, that's the cell division. It creates a sizing problem, by that I mean that larger emotes determine the size of the cell and if you use a small smiie, it uses up the same amount of space. Is it possible to have a plugin using the old method that did not have cells, the smilies just took up as much room as their size dictated in width? I know larger smilies affected height, but I handled that by having all my larger smilies in their own rows. This is what I have used for years, in the regular posting area, but also on the qluick reply. support.proboards.com/thread/70256Thank you for your consideration.

Which version are you currently using?
I can change that version to display the smilies 'as-is' instead of putting them in a table for you.

I haven't converted my regular site to V5 yet so I am still using the plain version from years ago. I have it set so that it works in the regular Reply area and also for the Quick Reply. If you can make it work with Proboards V5, it would be greatly appreciated.
The top of the code I am using starts with this, Todge:
<script language=JavaScript> <!--
/* Extra Smilies, with preview, drop down menu and option to view all (V2) by Todge Copyright © 2006

I know you are working hard helping people use your new Smilie Plugin, Todge. I don't want to be a pest, nor appear ungrateful for a newer spiffy version that others are using, but have you had a chance to think about fixing a plugin using the plain old smilie code from the past? I download the plugin from that other very active thread and took a look at it and it wants to set up rows and such and doesn't have the option for viewing the smilies 'as is' that you mentioned. With your earlier code, the smilies just 'wrapped' when the size parameter for the box ran out and we learned to place our smilies accordingly. That's the way I'd like to be able to do it again.
Thank you for your very generous time here at Proboards.

You aren't taking too long, Todge, and I wouldn't be installing it tonight anyway, I'm watching my team hopefully win their match in the Sweet Sixteen. Just wanted to check in and prompt you as you recommended. Go Cardinals! lol

We won, Todge!! Thanks, I'll try it out and get back to you. Holy Cow, you named it after me! Wow! Well, I am back very quickly, I was so excited I wanted to try it right away. There were no instructions, so I just tried the old copy and paste method. that didn't work. I don't have the drop down menu on the side, but none of my smilies show up either. I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but now sure what. I wondered if it was using ' instead of " before and after the smilies, but I tried that and it didn't change anything. Need a little help here, Todge. jetsky.proboards.com/

Sorry about that.. I forgot to remove something. Try downloading and installing it again. You smilie array should be in exactly the same format as your original smilie array, so simply copy/pasting it in should work. Make sure you set a width and a height, and you should be good to go.

I am so excited, Todge. It looks perfect, works perfect, all I had to do was copy and paste from my regular site. Thank you so very much, this means a lot to me.

Todge I have a question and if it is even possible to do with the smilies plugins. The old version we were able to have smilies above the post area using this coed Herethen had them in a Pull down list like the new one you just posted for JJ. But is there or can you combine the other Smilies Code Here with the one we used to have Here.

Hi Todge. I have a question. When I use a smilie in the Quick Reply area, it opens up at the beginning of my post, not where I left off typing. Is there a fix for that?
ETA: This is an IE Issue. I mostly use IE9. In Chrome, the smilie goes to the end like it should.
