I can only do so much in the time I have for this stuff I'll take that as a no and that you really aren't working on a plug for me at all. Making this whole thread very misleading. Thanks for being honest so i don't waste my time waiting for something that isn't going to happen.

Right, but you will work on the first part to benefit others. And yes I understood you have other things in the works but you obviously put them aside to work of the first part, for others. Where would these posts that are pending approval go? Since there won't be any notification, one needs to know where the holding pen is?

They stay where they are. They just get hidden or replaced with a message saying they are under review
I don't work on just one request at a time because I get stuck on stuff. If I stopped everything just because I get stuck then I would take ten times longer to finish codes. I get stuck, and I work on a different project in the hopes I come up with a solution or I get inspired by a smaller solution.
If shorty or pebble or todge or richie wanted to jump in and beat me to a finished product, then more power to them, but they likely are in the same mindset I am. You could wait for anyone else to work on it if you want, maybe even subdevo would come out of retirement ...
Otherwise I am still working on it

Otherwise I am still working on it I understand the part about getting stuck on one and working on another in the meantime. So, how do I find the hidden ones? I just come across them by accident? I think Pebble is busy as well, since I tagged him to another thread over a non working plug in. I have a plug in of todge's that doesn't seem to work either, now that you mention it.

we are spread thin. if you think about it, there were something around 800 codes for v4. many of them became obsolete when V5 came about because you could directly edit the HTML, but many many others were in need of converting. almost none of them would work on a V5 forum. so the requests began to roll in. some coders (wonder, hpmad, california, crow, dregondahl, subdevo) werent around anymore to update the more popular codes that they had written. todge, richie, and eton are working on updating things, and some newer coders like pebble, shortyverret, virgil, texas and aaron are pushing things out. but as you work on new codes, PB has to make a change (usually to fix a bug) that ends up causing your older codes to stop working. so now you have to stop and go back and fix all those up before you continue. additionally, you might get a slew of modification requests to one of your codes that suddenly gained a lot of interest so you pause to try and get a revision pushed out.
all of that, on top of the fact that this is all volutary and most of the coders have jobs/school to content with that takes priority.
so you arent being ignored on purpose. its just someone hasnt been able to address your situation AND simultaneously have a correct answer for you.
now back to THIS request. yes, you would have to check boards that say they have new posts for posts by someone who is being censored. the post remains censored for everyone except the person who posted it (who will still see a message saying it is under review), and the staff you have listed as being able to clear it. once the post key is cleared. the post become visible to everyone. it might actually be worthwhile to leave the report post link in there so if a post goes for a long time without being cleared, the member can report their own post so you see the alert.
until part 2, where it is my intention to use superuser key to record post numbers of all the censored posts on the accounts of staff that can clear the censor. then when they log in, it can alert them there are posts waiting (somehow.. not sure how that can/should be implemented... open to ideas). it can give them a list of those posts and they can travel to them and inspect them and approve them. once approved, that post id gets removed from all the staff keys for alert.

Well, the invisible one by Pebble was a new one that he had just adjusted for me and it didn't work. I'll worry about the not allowing edit after a time malfunction later. Well, I have no problem with just having the post hidden until the admin can approve. So, I guess allowing for customization on who can approve a post would be good, but the option for just admin approval needs to be there as well. You could start with the first part and let me see how that works and maybe the second part won't be needed.

Yeah the way I have it setup currently is you choose one or more boards to be approved by one or more staff. that way you can setup a single board only 1 staff member (admin always had approval) can approve, and another board for a different staff member - or you could habe a single board with 4 or 5 staff members that can approve.
the message that the OP sees is customizable as well as the message everyone else sees is.

You just read my mind. I was coming over to ask about the freedom of selecting certain forums. I don't understand what you mean by 'the message that the OP see being customizable'...... do you mean editing like we already have? You have no idea how badly I need this. I need to be clear though. I could put one person on the approval list and have their posts hidden for a particular board or boards, while I could put a different poster on the list site wide and have all their posts be hidden and require approval?

The OP will see their content PLUS a message at the bottom telling them their post is under review. that is what my post flagging code for v4 did. other member JUST see a message telling them the message is under review. both those messages are customizable in the settings.
the autoforms as I have it setup: REVIEW RULE:
-> Which Member(s)
-> are on review in which board(s)
-> which are approved by which member(s)
so you get 3 config settings per rule. and you get however many rules the plugin can hold (probably like 100)
I only have the forms done currently though because I had to fix something wrong with Alter code.

Thanks so much for explaining. That will be wonderful!! This may eliminate the need for the second part/notifications. Although down the road if you have a lot of people being pre approved it might be handy. I'm excited.

Thanks for the update. Great to hear! So, how does that work? Is that a Monday-Friday, 9-5 thing? I would imagine there may be other plug ins pending approval as well. What is your guesstimate for how long something like that takes? Are you happy with the results?
