I have a couple of posters that do NOT get along and I made it clear that problems from the old site were to be left at the old site. That with my purchasing the site and having it hosted here at proboards it was to be a fresh start for everyone. Over the past few days I have had small wars going on and rather than just ban people out right I thought pre approving their posts might get it through to them that they need to stop.
I have done points and temp suspensions and they just come back and pick right up where they left off, attacking each other.
They are good posters on various topics and with others, it is just certain personalities are clashing.
I think a pre approval of posts is another option to be utilized before an outright banning. With a banning they are definitely gone. With pre approval, they might go, but they might also realize they need to change because they are being filtered. jmo

3 questions
1. I am assuming the plugin settings will be something silimar to 2 lists. 1 list of people who need to be approved, and 1 for people who can do the approving? right?
2. I assume the people who CAN approve will just be able to see the posts in question, but what does everyone else see? what does the "restricted" member see?
3. Are you expecting some sort of notification system when a post by a "restricted" member is made? because there is no way to do that. your best bet would be to check those members activity from their profile.
I had a v4 code called "Post Flagging" that essentially did something similar to this, except it was flagged by a moderator for other moderators to see. everyone else just saw a message that the post was under review.

I already use the person's latest posts to try and keep up but often there is already a mess to be cleaned up and I end up going through various threads to clean up after several posters. I was looking for something similar to the pre approval for registration. A poster gets listed and I get notified of a post pending and pre approve the post. Once approved it gets posted.

the only way a notification system can be done is by using 2 keys. a post key to keep the post concealed, and a super key to notify staff there are posts that are still flagged

I can start on the non-notification part of it first. make it into 2 plugins in case someone else wants to be able to use this without having to spend the key.

What would the non notification plug in do? Just set the post aside somewhere and the admin would check the location periodically?
