Hello Everyone! Please be aware that the rules for boards that allow bumping have changed. Depending on the board, there are now only three options in relation to thread bumping: 1. No bumping 2. Bumping by relevant post 3. Bumping only once every 24 hours The only thing that really changed were the boards that had varying frequencies of bumping. These boards ranged from being able to bump once an hour to once every 3 days. We decided to make things simple and fair. • SimpleAny board that allows bumping, you may bump your thread once every 24 hours. No more remembering which board can be bumped when. Easy for new and veteran members as well as mods/staff to remember. • Fair Having the same, essentially once a day, bumping gives all members a level playing field. The member that works all day and cannot access the forum now has the ability to bump their thread(s) with the same frequency as the member who can be connected all day. Please visit the specific board rules within the Forum Rules for complete policy on bumping. Thanks for your cooperation with the new bumping rule. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Finally, a reason to advertise my forum here. I usually didn't bother with bumping because I know that every 2 hours my thread could be pushed back a few pages.

Wait so to be clear, we CAN still bump just every 24 hours now? Yes. But just to be clear.... 1. No Bumping ONLY applies to the boards that have that particular rule, such as the GT board, Managing Your Forum board, Welcome board. 2. Bumping by relevant post, again ONLY applies to the boards with that rule which are the Promoting Your Forum Discussions board and I guess the Support board would fall under that category as well. 3. Bumping only once every 24 hours applies to all the other boards that allow bumping. This is spelled out in the Rules for each board, which you can find all in one spot here. Hope this clarifies bumping for you. If not, just let me know. (or just don't bump )

where is the code that made you from bumping your thread and clicking on reply until the right amount of type had passed? that being gone, people can still easily ''cheat''?

Don't like this. Bad decision. I would perfer every few hours. I liked the old way much better. This was discussed by the staff, and the new rules were chosen for a number of reasons. Amongst them the fact that there is now no confusion, on the part of staff or members. At times staff would have to check the rules themselves for boards they were unfamiliar with, in order to respond to reported posts. Similarly, members would assume that they could bump more frequently than they could in boards they were unfamiliar with. By limiting all boards to a 24 hour cycle there is no confusion. Scott also pointed out that this means in competitive boards where you want to be seen at the top of the first page, members aren't going to be penalised for working, or for otherwise being unable to sit on PBS for large amounts of time.

Well I guess I'll be watching your postings more closely now. I think it's reasonable to expect members to act in a responsible manner and follow the rules. We shouldn't have to implement code-based restrictions because someone can't control their urge to bump their thread. This is not primary (elementary) school.

Forgive me for tacking on but I also don't believe it's unreasonable to expect people to read the rules or ask questions prior to posting. If they are unwilling to put in the effort then that is on them, not on the staff team / implemented coding.

This is not primary (elementary) school. wow hold your freaking horses what the actual ..... so because i mention this you just quickly assume i am one of those people who is going to do this? what the ....... wow. your response to me asking a simple normal question and you just jumping to conclusions like that.... it is kind of funny at the same time. does it even occur to you it is possible i mentioned it because i am NOT one of those people, i want things to be completely fair and i see people cheating already and also thought it be good so mods don't have to be on it literally every sec and check threads to see if people cheating?.... you of all people should know, as your an admin, there is enough people that do not follow rules on a forum. i was mentioning it to say it was a positive thing and you guys had it up before for a reason or it would of never been there. i was just wondering why it was gone. thats freaking all. damn.....
