Hi, burlybear. I wasn't even personally aware that Tapatalk had a block feature. As far as I'm aware they haven't notified us of any changes in their app that require an update to include this feature (though I'm not their main point of contact for our company). I did some digging and the API feature they use to do it doesn't appear to be included on our end, suggesting we'd have to add it in at some point.

Hi, zimkitty. The $[user.likes] variable can be used to output a user's like count in Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile, so adding this to your preferred area within that template should do what you're looking for:

Hi, Sammiie. In Themes > Layout Templates > Board > Board List the {if !$[board.is_redirect]} block is a little messed up. You have the {else} within it occurring before this element and its children have closed: What's happening as a result is the sub-board container never closes before your closing tags never render on the page (since it thinks they should only render if the board is a redirect according to your if statement), so the thread list container ends up as its child and inherits its nowrap CSS. The problem isn't visible without the descriptions because they're the only thing that exceeds the default width of the Subject column.

If I had to take a guess I would assume that the script at the end of Themes > Layout Templates > Thread > Post List is causing it. I know the list manager hasn't played well with script tags in the past.
That script could go into the Thread tab and be tied to a page change event instead.

Hi, Account activation ensures that the user registering the account has access to the email address they're registering with. This involves going into your email inbox to find the activation email and clicking a single link to activate the account which is ultimately a trivial task. It only ever has to be done a single time for any email address you use on ProBoards. Any subsequent forum accounts you create under an activate email address on any ProBoards forum do not require an activation key. A multitude of sites online with widespread popularity still utilize this feature. We will continue doing the same for at least the remainder of the lifespan of this iteration of the forum software. ...there are numerous ways to effectively handle that issue (the simplest being, just don't let the script email those users) I'm not sure what this solution is meant to involve. There's no way to identify that a random visitor to a site is attempting to register with an email address that belongs to someone else.

Hi, skookum28. As far as I can tell push notifications are currently working on the Tapatalk app. Ensure that you have them enabled in the Settings section of your profile on the main page of the app, as well as ensuring that they aren't disabled for that particular forum in the Advanced Notification Settings.

Thanks! It looks like VigLink is malforming those links by truncating them with ellipsis. I'll email them and let them know the details. They usually are able to fix this pretty easily based on my past experience emailing them with other malformed links.

Can you provide a link to a post containing the original links on your forum that lead to the ones you posted?

The appearance of that page is determined entirely by the Guests Must Login feature in Settings > Forum Settings > Login & Registration. If it's on, you'll see the page in your screenshot. If it's off, you won't.

I saw a report from a device on iOS that cited the forum URL you provided so we were able to make a determination from there. Our ad provider got back to us letting us know that they've fulfilled our request. The network the ad originated from should no longer be serving ads.

becca2000: We've contacted the ad provider that serves the ad in question and requested that the network it originates from be disabled. This should hopefully stop the trend of new redirects appearing from that particular source. This will require action on the part of the ad provider so there may be a delay before the ad ceases appearing.

Hi, becca2000. I'll have someone check the automatic reports shortly for any new redirects. If you can provide any information about what devices and web browsers the redirects were experienced in that should also help us narrow down the responsible ad. I would appreciate it if someone could offer instructions on what I should tell my board members? Just wanted to expand on what I posted in the other thread a bit for you: Automatic redirects should be automatically reported to us by the new tool, but for everything else we request that you use the Ad Report tool as that sends the advertiser's information directly to us. Normally you can report any advertisements that violate our ad policies by clicking on the Report Ad link found at the bottom of any ProBoards forums that display ads. In the case of redirects you're taken away from the page, making it impossible to report the ad manually. For that reason our ad system detects if an ad that was shown to a user behaved in this manner and automatically reports it to us without any further action on your part.

Let me ask this then, Once I banned the Global ID and the IP, if I delete the account I know it will be removed but that username can not be used again IF they get in with a different IP, correct? A global ID ban prevents them from registering with the same global account. An IP ban prevents them from registering from the same IP address. The username of a deleted account can be reused by anyone unless placed on the Reserved Names list.

Hi, BusyMother. You can hide them from the list through the layout templates, but this won't do much as they'll still show up in searches throughout the forum so long as they exist. This also won't affect the mobile version of the forum at all.
